The Washington Football Team (1-1) traveled to Cleveland to take on the Browns (1-1) in week 3. The Football Team struggled against the Browns’ aggressive defense all game, turning the ball over five times and giving up three sacks.
Pounding the Rock
On the other hand, the Browns rode out running backs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt–who combined for 174 scrimmage yards and three touchdowns–to win the game 34-20.
After three punts to start the game, Washington put together a quick drive that ended in a 17-yard touchdown pass from Dwayne Haskins to Dontrelle Inman.
Cleveland would go on to score 17 straight points to end the half up 17-7, including a strong 16-yard touchdown run by Nick Chubb. Not only did the Browns’ offense start to click in the second quarter, but their defense forced two interceptions and a fumble.
Washington would regain the lead in the third quarter after back-to-back drives ending in touchdowns, putting them up 20-17. However, similarly to the first half, Cleveland would go on to score 17 straight points, thanks to a strip sack by Myles Garrett late in the fourth to help close out the game 34-20.

What’s Next
The Cleveland Browns move to (2-1) and will face another NFC East opponent next week in the Dallas Cowboys. They will need to get Baker Mayfield more confident throwing the football if they want to match the Cowboys high-scoring offense.
The Washington Football Team drop to (1-2) and have the daunting task of playing the Baltimore Ravens in week 4. Their first-round pick Chase Young suffered an injury in this game which could hurt Washington’s defense going forward. They will have to score a lot of points if they want a chance to upset Baltimore next week.
