The talk of the NFC North offseason was the Green Bay Packers selecting Jordan Love in the first round. After not drafting a single skill player in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Packers offense exploded for 85 points in the first two games.
After two dominating performances, the Packers will travel to New Orleans for one of the most anticipated matchups of the 2020 NFL season. Although Drew Brees did not look like himself in Week 2, the matchup of Brees and Aaron Rodgers never disappoints. Two of the teams with the most hope entering the season will face off in a possibly season-defining matchup for each team.
It was all Aaron Jones in Week 2. The star running back accumulated 236 yards from scrimmage against the Detroit Lions and provided three touchdowns en route to a convincing win over the rival Detroit Lions. It will be the battle of dynamic running backs with Jones looking to assert himself across from Alvin Kamara.
Although both the Saints and Packers will have their star running backs, both teams could be without two of the top receivers in the NFL, Michael Thomas, and Davante Adams respectively. Adams assisted Rodgers in dicing up the young Vikings and Lions secondaries, but the veteran quarterback may be without his number one target due to a hamstring injury that has Adams listed as doubtful. Thomas officially was ruled out Friday afternoon and will not play against the Packers.
The Saints will be highly motivated for this Week 3 matchup on Sunday Night Football. The team, who came into 2020 with Super Bowl aspirations, looked lost without Thomas against the Raiders. Brees and Kamara will have a lot on their hands while facing Jaire Alexander, Za’Darius Smith, and the Green Bay defense who has been surprisingly impactful in the first two games.

With the result of the game opening at a near toss-up, take the over in this matchup. Green Bay has put up 40+ points in two straight weeks and the Saints have struggled to defend the pass. Add on the Packers issues against running backs like Kamara and the over of 53 looks very enticing.
Prediction
This will be a close game to entertain NFL fans on Sunday night. The Packers have a clear advantage on both sides of the ball, but Sean Payton and Brees will not go down without a fight in a second straight primetime matchup. A late-game drive by Rodgers will take care of business and move Green Bay to 3-0.
Final Score: Green Bay Packers 30, New Orleans Saints 24
