Choosing the players who will succeed and benching the ones who will not is essential to winning in fantasy football. Each week, fantasy owners will have to make the tough decision to put a player they like on the bench because the truth is that players a bust. The willingness to do so is what separates good fantasy owners from bad ones. Let’s take a look at five players who could bust in Week 3.
Tom Brady – QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs LAR)
Tom Brady has had a great start to the year scoring 56.8 points over the first two weeks, but things could change against the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams have allowed an average of 15.93 points to opposing quarterbacks and if the trend continues, Brady will have an underwhelming week.

Aaron Jones – RB, Green Bay Packers (vs SF)
Aaron Jones had a monster game against the Detroit Lions in Week 2 where he scored four touchdowns, but this week, he could bust. Last year, even with the San Fransisco 49ers struggles, they managed to hold Jones to just 13.01 fantasy points. He may still manage to put up decent numbers this week, but with the 49ers’ shower-paced rushing-based offense, Jones could struggle to have a 15 plus point game.
Damien Harris – RB, New England Patriots (vs NO)
Damien Harris has been good for fantasy owners who took him in the later rounds, but against the New Orleans Saints, he could have a rough week. The Saints were able to shut down Green Bay’s, Jones, in Week 1, but then was crushed by Christian McCaffery in Week 2 leaving questions about their defense. However, the pieces are still in place for the team to be good against the run. With Harris having to split some time with James White and the Saints’ good run defense, it will be tough for him to have a big week.
Chris Godwin – WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs LAR)
Godwin has a tough matchup this week against the Rams after being successful in Weeks 1 and 2. The Rams have two good corners in Jalen Ramsey and Darious Williams which will make it tough for any Buccaneers receiver to get it going, including Godwin.
Corey Davis – WR, New York Jets (vs DEN)
Corey Davis has had an inconsistent start to the year (fantasy-wise), due to poor quarterback play. Zach Wilson was not able to find Davis much and threw four interceptions last week against the Patriots. Wilson and the Jets will face another tough defense against the Denver Broncos this week which makes it hard to project Davis succeeding.
