The Buffalo Bills (2-0) are known to have a great defense. Now they have given the keys of the offense to quarterback Josh Allen, who finished 24-35 with 403 passing yards and four touchdowns in their 31-28 win over the Miami Dolphins (0-2). He’s the first Bills quarterback since Drew Bledsoe in 2002 to throw for over 400 yards in a game.

The Bills were up 17-10 at halftime. After the Dolphins took their first lead in the third quarter, they regained the lead with 5:55 in the fourth quarter when Allen found Gabriel Davis for his only catch of the game. Wide receiver Stefon Diggs was the biggest offseason addition for the Bills. He finished with eight catches for 153 yards and a touchdown. Tight end Dawson Knox left the game early with a concussion.

The defense put pressure on quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick from start to finish, sacking him three times. Cornerback Levi Wallace led the Bills with seven tackles.

The Dolphins made this a game, in large part to Fitzpatrick’s second half performance. He finished 31-47 with 328 yards and three touchdowns. Tight end Mike Gesicki led the receiving corps, finishing with eight catches for 130 yards and a touchdown. The Dolphins only recorded 99 rushing yards.

Allen was able to excel due to the lack of pressure from the Dolphins front seven. They only sacked Allen one time and didn’t record a single tackle for loss.
