Best Bet No. 1: Detroit Lions Moneyline (-125)

This would have been absurd to even think about four months ago, but the Detroit Lions (6-7) are in contention for an NFC Wild Card berth. Yes, playoff football is alive in Detroit, Mich. As this season has progressed, the Lions have continued to improve on both sides of the ball. I don’t know if it’s the Dan Campbell effect or the fact that this team has some major offensive weapons to deploy with the likes of Jared Goff, Jameson Williams, and Amon-Ra St. Brown. Whatever it may be, the Lions are certainly not ones to shy away from putting points on the board.

This afternoon poses a whole new test as they go head-to-head with Zach Wilson and the New York Jets (7-6). Wilson, in particular, has been the subject of criticism and scrutiny over the past few weeks with his poor play and subsequent benching. I think the Lions are going to run away with this one and keep their playoff hopes alive. Take Detroit on the moneyline.

Best Bet No. 2: Steelers vs. Panthers Under 37.5 (-110)

With Kenny Pickett (concussion) listed as doubtful for this game, Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers (5-8) will turn back to Mitch Trubisky on the road to face the Carolina Panthers (5-8) in what is projected to be a scrappy, low-scoring affair in Charlotte, N.C. The total line for this game currently sits at 37.5, which is the second-lowest in the NFL in Week 15. On the Carolina side of things, the Panthers love to run the ball and should do so for the majority of the game. Not only will a lock of clock be eaten up, but I think we’ll see plenty of stops as both teams struggle to find rhythm and continuity on offense.

Both of these teams have been far from impressive in 2022. Although neither team has been officially eliminated from playoff contention, I think we’ll see a run-heavy type of afternoon. I’m inclined to lean towards the under in this one and you should, too.

Gates Top NFL Team From Week 11 (2024)

Week 11 in the NFL brought more chaos, with at least five games on Sunday being decided by a single score. Notably, the Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts won their games by just one point. As a result of their performance, the Buffalo Bills have earned the title of our NFL Team of the Week for the second time this season, having previously received this honor in Week 8.
