With the amount of history made in Lambeau Field last Sunday evening, Aaron Rodgers decided to continue the train this Sunday afternoon against the Philadelphia Eagles. Rodgers threw his 400th career touchdown pass in the third quarter and became the first quarterback in NFL history to have five seasons of 35 touchdown passes or more. Rodgers also has the fewest interceptions (88) ever for a quarterback hitting the 400th career touchdown pass mark.
“It was a cool moment. To throw it to Davante, he did all the work. These are fun milestones for sure, I don’t know how long I’ll be able to hold on to the second one, but it speaks to my consistency for sure,” said Rodgers.
“It was cool for me to catch his 200th touchdown pass, which was also my first touchdown pass, but today I think he wins in the coolness department,” said Davante Adams.
Aside from the outstanding statistics provided by Rodgers, head coach Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay Packers’ offense continued their dominance of the NFL. Aaron Jones had 15 carries, 130 yards, and a touchdown and Adams scored twice on 10 catches and 121 yards. Even with dropped touchdown passes from both Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Adams, the Packers scored 30 points and only trailed once the entire contest.
The story of the day for Philadelphia was the decision by head coach Doug Pederson to bench starting quarterback Carson Wentz. After scoring only three points in three quarters and posting an abysmal 57.4 quarterback rating, the Eagles make the move to rookie quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Although Hurts was not incredible, he provided a distinct spark to the Eagles’ offense. Hurts led the Eagles on a scoring drive which was capped by a 32-yard touchdown pass to Greg Ward Jr. The Eagles then immediately stopped the Packers offense, and Jalen Reagor took the JK Scott punt back 73 yards to close Green Bay’s lead to 23-16.
“You have to give Philly a lot of credit, they battled back when we took a big lead. But, I am really proud of our guys. We held our lead, stayed focused, and gave amazing effort and energy.” said LaFleur.
The dagger for the Packers was a 77-yard touchdown run from Jones, who received a block from almost everyone on the Green Bay offense on the run.
After putting up 34 offensive points on the elite Bears defense last week, the Packers continued to excel offensively and take advantage of key stops from the defense. Rodgers had his 12th game with a passer rating over 100 and continued to make his case for NFL MVP on Sunday.
“Maybe I can get to 500 before I throw 100 picks? Let’s see,” said Rodgers. As incredible as it seems, with the way Rodgers is playing there is little reason to doubt him.
Defensively, Darnell Savage sealed the game late with his third interception in the last seven days, and Kingsley Keke provided two sacks for Green Bay. A defensive unit that has struggled to get to the quarterback in 2020 finally provided some key sacks to drive Philadelphia out of field goal range and keep the game close early.

Reagor took a punt return 73 yards to the house, which brought the game to 23-16.

Jones sealed the deal with a 77-yard touchdown run.
Philadelphia has decisions to make. Doug Pederson would not commit to naming a starting quarterback for their Week 14 matchup against the Saints. Whether it is Wentz, or Hurts, the Eagles will have a rough time with the New Orleans Saints. Darius Slay Jr. and Avonte Maddox left the game with an injury, Jason Peters was benched and Miles Sanders barely showed up to play. No matter who is under center next Sunday, it’s decision time in Philadelphia.
Green Bay faces the Detroit Lions next week on the road. Detroit gave the Chicago Bears a fight in their 34-30 win this Sunday. The Packers dominated the Lions in Week 2 with a 42-21 win, but the Lions and Packers have both changed tremendously in the last 11 weeks. Now in the second seed in the NFC, Green Bay will be doing their best to clinch the north (magic number is two) and stay right behind the New Orleans Saints for a potential first-round bye.
