The New York Giants head out West to take on the Seattle Seahawks for their Week 13 matchup. New York sits at 4-7, looking to keep this game competitive as they will be without quarterback Daniel Jones. Meanwhile, at 8-3, Seattle is hoping to begin their final push for the No. 1 seed in the National Football Conference. This game could get out of hand very quickly for the Giants.
The Giants come into this week averaging just 19.3 points per game, good for 30th in the National Football League. However, this week could be even worse as the Giants list quarterback Jones as doubtful. Meanwhile, receiving yards leader Darius Slayton is also currently listed as questionable. On top of that, fellow wideout Sterling Shepard has found himself on the injury report and was limited in practice on Friday. Shepard is currently second on the team in receptions with 41 and third in receiving yards with 359. Seattle’s weak secondary likely won’t have to put up much of a fight against a weak Giants offense led this week by Colt McCoy.
For Seattle, this weekend, while not a guarantee, certainly leans heavily in their favor. The Seahawks are currently 5-0 at home this season. Right now, the offense has been hitting on all cylinders, especially in the passing game. Quarterback Russell Wilson has thrown for 3,216 passing yards and 31 touchdowns this season, and the Giants’ 19th-ranked passing defense likely doesn’t stand a chance against the likes of D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. It will be interesting to see where the Giants play standout cornerback James Bradberry this weekend in hopes of neutralizing at least one of Wilson’s weapons. Metcalf currently leads the NFL in receiving yards with 1,039 and also has nine touchdowns to his name. At the same time, Bradberry has three interceptions, and 15 passes defended this season.
Both of these teams have sound run defenses as both are top-5 in yards allowed per game. However, the run game will likely be a non-factor in this one as Jones currently leads the Giants in rushing yards with 403. Simultaneously, the Seahawks have struggled all season to establish as strong of a running game as in previous years. Wilson currently leads the Seahawks in rushing yards, and running back Chris Carson is just behind at 364 yards. The Giants will need to keep this game close early on if they want any shot at winning this football game. Otherwise, Seattle may run away with it behind a high-powered passing offense.

The Seahawks are a double-digit favorite this weekend for a good reason. New York is battered right now, and in reality this game was not going to be close anyway. Seattle’s offense is too good, and the Giants’ secondary will allow Wilson to cook all day long. Usually, bettors should hesitate to take the favorite with spreads this large, but smash Seattle -11 with confidence this weekend.
The Giants aren’t going to be putting up many points despite a rocky Seahawks defense. Wilson and the Seahawks’ offense should put up a respectable number while the G-Men muster together a couple of touchdown drives. However, the under is the safer bet this weekend, with the projected total currently at 47.
Prediction
There are few scenarios where the Giants keep this game close and even fewer to escape with a win. Seattle runs away with this one from the beginning with Wilson and Metcalf’s explosive connection, giving the Seahawks a comfortable 21-7 lead at halftime.
Through the second half, McCoy and the Giants’ offense scrape together another touchdown drive in the third quarter. Still, the Seahawks offense lands another touchdown and field goal to secure their ninth win of the season.
Final Score: New York 14, Seattle 31
