Best Bet No. 1: A.J. Dillon UNDER 42.5 Rushing Yards (+135)
This may seem bold because Aaron Jones and Emanuel Wilson were both ruled out for Week 12, but the fact of the matter is that Detroit has a very strong run defense. This unit didn’t allow a single Bears running back to eclipse 35 yards last week. Meanwhile, Dillon registered just 2.1 YPC last Sunday against a very weak Chargers defensive front. If he couldn’t get things going against Los Angeles, why should we feel good about him excelling against Detroit? Plus, with Detroit heavily favored, we could see Green Bay fall behind early and pivot away from the rushing attack. That’s why this prop bet focuses on just rushing yards rather than rushing and receiving. At the end of the day, would we feel better if this line was set closer to 50? Of course. However, at plus money, I’m taking the under all day long.
Best Bet No. 2: Total Points UNDER 47.5 (-110)
Only two Packers games have gone over 47.5 points this season, which makes the “under” an appealing bet here. Although Detroit has seen six of its 11 games go over this mark, most of those came against very capable offenses. As a result, the Lions had to keep their foot on the gas pedal, trying to score even more points rather than kill the clock. That won’t be the case this Thursday. Detroit knows its opponent, an injured Green Bay squad, is not a threat for major points. As long as the Lions score early, they can run the ball to drain the clock. That will keep the combined score under 47.5 points.
Best Bet No. 3: Jahmyr Gibbs OVER 77.5 Rush + Rec Yards (-115)
One way to kill the clock? Feed Gibbs. This prop bet feels like free money considering Gibbs has eclipsed this mark in each of his last four games (and five of his last six). Even with David Montgomery vying for touches, the two running backs have shown that they can easily co-exist within this potent Detroit offense. It also helps that Green Bay has allowed the seventh-most rushing yards to opposing running backs this year. Everything is falling into place for Gibbs to explode on Turkey Day. If we’re being completely honest, I would’ve considered placing this same bet if Gibbs’ line was set at 100 yards. Taking the “over” at 77.5 yards, therefore, is a no-brainer. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, say “thanks” to Vegas for the easy profit.
