Week 11 of the 2021 NFL season is here. Just seven weeks are remaining after Sunday. This means that playoff hunts and the quests for seedings will only begin to become more challenging in each conference as the year winds down. Continuing to be a story over the last few weeks, the underdogs reigned supreme in week 10 once again. They went 8-5 against the spread, with five of them winning outright.
Back with our fantasy sleepers article, our picks struggled once again a week ago. Ben Roethlisberger was held out for the Pittsburgh Steelers battle against the Detroit Lions after being placed on the Covid-19 reserve list. Furthermore, Kenyan Drake amassed just 16 yards on the ground, while Cole Beasley had just two catches in the Buffalo Bills blowout victory over the New York Jets. Minnesota Vikings tight end Tyler Conklin remained the lone bright spot for our selections as the University of Central Michigan product hauled in two touchdown passes in the team’s narrow victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins
Expect Tagovailoa to make the start for the Dolphins on Sunday. The former fifth overall pick handled the backup duties in the team’s victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night. This was after dressing but not starting during their matchup against the Houston Texans with a finger injury. Ultimately forced to enter the game after Jacoby Brissett left in the third quarter, the University of Alabama product played well off the bench to help deliver his team the win. He completed eight of his 13 passes for 158 yards while adding in a rushing score.
With a matchup against the New York Jets on tap for Sunday, play him as a high-end QB2. A defense to target this season, Jeff Ulbrich‘s group is ranked 32nd in the NFL in yards and points per game. This has led the team to give up over 21 fantasy points per contest to opposing signal-callers. With a chance to silence his critics following the endless trade speculation, Tagovailoa offers a strong option for owners in need of help at the position.
Daniel Jones, New York Giants
Jones got off to a hot start to begin his 2021 campaign. The 24-year-old finished as QB14, QB4, QB20, and QB6 to begin the year. However, the former seventh overall pick has seen his play begin to tail off over the past few weeks. Struggling mightily in the Giant’s last contest, he completed just 15 passes for 110 yards and one touchdown in the team’s win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Fresh off a bye, he will square off against the defending super bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.
Likely to have almost his full complement of skill players back after being hampered by injuries, look for Jones to be in a positive game script for a significant duration of the afternoon. Still struggling to slow down opposing passing attacks, Todd Bowles‘s group has given up over 260 yards per game through the air to opposing quarterbacks, leading to almost two passing touchdowns per matchup. Owned in just 29% of Yahoo leagues and 30% of ESPN leagues, he is a pure streamer this week for players.
Cole Kmet, Chicago Bears
Kmet is fresh off one of his finest performances of the year. He hauled in a season-high six receptions for 87 yards during the Bears week 9 nail-biting loss to the Steelers. Quickly becoming a bigger factor in Matt Nagy’s offense as he develops a rapport with Justin Fields, the Notre Dame product has now averaged over four receptions per game during the last month. Along with this, he has also averaged over 10 yards per catch.
With a home matchup looming against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday afternoon, start him. Still looking to figure out their ongoing problems in the secondary, Baltimore has allowed four of their eight starting quarterbacks faced to pass for over 300 yards. This has led the team to give up 6.2 receptions per game to opposing tight ends, leading to over 72 reception yards on average. Still, in search of his first touchdown catch of the season, Kmet offers high-end TE2 upside.
Jamal Agnew, Jacksonville Jaguars
Agnew has quickly become a regular wide receiver in Jacksonville after being brought in mainly for his special teams play. He has averaged at least 12.9 PPR points per game over the last month. Failing to haul in a reception a week ago in the team’s narrow loss to the Indianapolis Colts, the former fifth-round pick still amassed 79 rushing yards and one score. Largely a hit or miss option through ten weeks of the season, stream him as a Flex option this week for owners looking for an added boost in their lineups.
Beginning to find their groove as the season has progressed, the San Francisco 49ers defense has allowed just 198 yards through the air on average through the last month. However, the group has still allowed opposing wideouts to average 12.8 receptions per game, leading to over 19 fantasy points per contest.
D’Onta Foreman, Tennessee Titans
Continuing to be a work in progress without their star running back in Derrick Henry, the Titans backfield has seen many different players draw snaps. Given the chance to start a week ago, Foreman racked up 11 rushes for 30 yards while adding two receptions for 48 yards through the air. This led him to finish as RB30 for the week. Proving to be the best runner on the team out of the three options they have at present, start Foreman as an RB3 this week as Tennessee looks to ride the hot hand.
One of the worst units against the run across the league, the Texans have given up the second-most rushing yards and eighth-most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs. Furthermore, they have surrendered 3.7 receptions per game to the position, which should give the 25-year-old a solid floor for owners this week.
