The 1-7 Jacksonville Jaguars head north to take on the 6-2 Green Bay Packers on Sunday. The Packers will be returning a few starters on offense but will be without Jaire Alexander, who was listed as doubtful as he is in the concussion protocol. Green Bay needs to win this game to keep pace with Seattle and New Orleans for the top spot in the NFC.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Last week, the Jaguars turned to rookie sixth-round pick Jake Luton as the starting quarterback. He completed over 68 percent of his passes last week against the Texans for 304 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. Luton will look to turn to DJ Chark, who should have a great game as Green Bay is without Alexander and potentially Kevin King. The Jacksonville running game should be the main focal point offensively as Green Bay’s run defense is one of the worst in the league. James Robinson should run all over the run defense as he continues to become one of the best players on the Jaguars. Cam Robinson and Jawaan Taylor will struggle against Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith this week. The Jaguars have potentially the worst tackle duo in the league, and while the Packers have struggled to get pressure, this could finally be the week they do.
The matchup to watch in this game will be Davante Adams against C.J. Henderson. Henderson has had an up-and-down rookie year and needs to keep Adams in check. The rookie cornerback allowed a 77-yard touchdown and committed a 54-yard pass interference penalty against Houston last week.
Green Bay Packers
The Packers welcome back David Bakhtiari this week. The All-Pro left tackle has missed the last few games with a chest injury. Allen Lazard is a game-time decision that Aaron Rodgers could use this week to his advantage if he were to play. Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams will form a dynamic duo this week as the two will be getting plenty of looks. The weather report is calling for a windy, snowy game on Sunday that will result in both rushing attacks being more valuable. Adams should be able to get the best of Henderson a few times this week, and a touchdown is almost guaranteed. All of Lazard, Tyler Ervin, Marcedes Lewis, and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett were on the Jaguars at some point and have made an impact in Green Bay.
With Alexander and potentially King out, the Packers will be relying on stud-slot cornerback Chandon Sullivan, Josh Jackson, and Ka’Dar Hollman at the cornerback position. Jackson has finally come into his own in recent weeks, and Hollman has shown flashes. Both Smith’s need to get after Luton to create sacks and turnovers.

Betting Odds Sponsored by Jazz Sportsbook
Point Spread: JAX +13.5 (-110) | GB -13.5 (-110)
Moneyline: JAX +635 | GB -1035
Over/Under: O 47.5 (-110) | U 47.5 (-110)
The contest could very well be a trap game for the Packers. The spread is too large in what will be a ground-and-pound game due to the weather. Jacksonville could pull off the upset and the over/under is set at the right spot for this game, as there will likely be around 47 or 48 points scored.
Prediction
The Jaguars come out strong and get out to a small early lead. After halftime, Rodgers and company pull it together to get a one-score win at home and continue their surge at the top seed in the NFC.
Final Score: Jacksonville Jaguars 20, Green Bay Packers 27
