UMass continues to search for answers after a 76-70 loss to South Carolina on Saturday.
In the loss, UMass, which was coming off a game in which it sent Quinnipiac to the free throw line 27 times, put South Carolina at the line 29 times which was the difference in this one.

After watching their halftime lead disappear, the Minutemen faced a 56 – 63 with 4:29 remaining.
With 20 ticks to go, Carl Pierre drilled a 3-pointer – capping off an 14-9 UMass run – to bring it within two, 72-70. The Minutemen were forced to foul and Hassani Gravett buried both attempts to make it a four-point game.
With a chance to bring the Minutemen within one, Luwane Pipkins came up empty on a 3-pointer, and Gravett sealed the South Carolina win with a pair of free throws.
While it sent the Gamecocks to the line 29 times, where they buried 17 attempts, UMass stepped to the charity stripe just five times, connecting on four shots.
Pipkins led the Minutemen with a team-high 25 points.
UMass looks to get back on track Wednesday at 7 p.m. when it hosts Holy Cross (2-5).
