Tyreek Hill and the Top NFL Players of 2024

NFL Dolphins Tyreek Hill

Miami Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill becomes the first wide receiver to rank No. 1 in the league’s top 100 countdown. The ranking, which was published last Friday, listed 20 wide receivers, the most of any playing position, ahead of 17 linebackers and 16 quarterbacks.

Hill is the first wide receiver, and fourth non-quarterback (alongside Adrian Peterson, J.J. Watt, and Aaron Donald) to be ranked in the prestigious top position in the top 100 countdown, which is in its 14th edition. He was voted by peers after a spectacular season where he nearly equaled Calvin Johnson’s single-season receiving record of 1,964, with a league-leading 1,799 yards receiving in 2023.

The rest of the top 5 NFL players included Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and last year’s Number 1 Patrick Mahomes, and Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett.

The eight-time Pro Bowler and five-time All-Pro selection exceeded 1,000 yards receiving in three-quarters of his eight NFL seasons. Hill’s 2023 season also saw him score double-digit touchdown receptions (13), a feat he achieved for the third time.

The Top NFL Players of 2024

Back to our list, two-time MVP Mahomes, Super Bowl champion, and the 2023 No. 1 player slipped to fourth place in this year’s list, raising eyebrows from various quarters. However, Hill remains rock-sure of his competencies and believes he deserves his rise to the top spot. During Hill’s appearance on the Up & Adams Show, host Kay Adams asks if he believes he’s better than Mahomes. Without batting an eye, Hill responded with delight, ‘‘Yeah for sure, I’m him.”

Hills doesn’t just think he’s better than anyone else in the NFL. While everyone knows that Hills is the king of speed in the league, he believes he’s faster than the fastest man in the world.

Weighing in on men’s 100m Gold medalist, in the same interview, Tyreek Hill claims: “I would beat Noah Lyles” while also criticizing the NBA Finals winners for regarding themselves as “world champions.”

While we leave Hill to revel in his most recent recognition, let’s see who else makes the Top 100 NFL players in the 2024 season. Here’s the full list:
