STREAMER OF THE WEEK
Chris Bassitt, OAK (LAA, @SEA)

Our first streamer of the season is Chris Bassitt of the Oakland Athletics. He will pitch the final game of a four-game homestand against the Los Angeles Angels on Monday, and then finish off his week with a matchup against the Seattle Mariners. We don’t know how long Bassitt will stick in the rotation with the chosen one, Jesus Luzardo, getting closer and closer to a full workload, but we may as well enjoy it while we can.
Bassitt finished last season with a 3.81 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP while striking out a batter per inning. He increased his fastball velocity and limited his hard-hit rate. Those are the kind of improvements fantasy managers look for in their hidden gems. The Angels are a team without Anthony Rendon, and the Mariners are currently eight dudes and Kyle Lewis. Seattle struck out 9.76 times per game last season and provide Bassitt with a substantial opportunity to prove that he can hold down a rotation spot for as long as the Athletics need him in one.
