Buffalo Bills v. Minnesota Vikings (Week 10)

Final Score: 30-33

This is one match we will be in no hurry to forget. Understandably, this match-up between the Buffalo Bills and the Minnesota Vikings occupies the position of the game of the season for many people. One can easily see why. In the third quarter of the game, the Vikings were behind by up to 17 points. For anyone watching in real-time, this game was to end in a loss for the Vikings.

The Vikings, however, had other plans. Starting with an 81-yard rushing touchdown by Dalvin Cook and thanks to an excellent showing by Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson, the Vikings managed to ease ahead of the Bills in the final minute of the game. This was not to be the last twist. Josh Allen led the Bills to secure a field goal that sent the game to overtime. The resilient Vikings however went on to emerge victorious in overtime with a 33-30 lead.

Green Bay Packers v. Philadelphia (Week 12)

Final Score: 33-40

This was undoubtedly one of the best offensive games we witnessed in the 2022-23 season. The attacks of both teams were relentless from start to finish. At the end of the game, both teams had a combined 842 total yards and nine touchdowns.

Of course, this game was made more memorable by quarterback Jalen Hurts’s extraordinary display. He made himself a one-man nightmare for the Packers’ defense, racking up 157 rushing yards as well as 153 passing yards and two touchdowns. To put things in perspective of just how dominant Hurts was in this game, he had more rushing yards than the entire Green Bay offense was able to manage all game. It is, therefore, not surprising that Hurts broke a 1950 record with this game and established himself as a frontrunner for the NFL MVP.

Minnesota Vikings v. Indianapolis Colts (Week 14)

Final Score: 39-36

This list cannot be complete without a mention of the biggest comeback in NFL history. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Vikings were involved again. Trailing by 33 points to none at half-time, the game seemed to have had a foregone conclusion – a victory for the Colts.

However, things began to change when Kirk Cousins, who could not do much in the first half, managed to throw four touchdown passes. This ended in the Vikings tying the game with a Dalvin Cook touchdown and sending the game to overtime. The Vikings had no intention of letting this game slip away though, as they sealed their victory with a 40-yard field goal by Greg Joseph. No doubt, this was a nail-biting game for people who bet on NFL teams.

Buffalo Bills v. Kansas City Chiefs (Week 6)

Final Score: 24-20

This was one of the most exciting matches of 2022, featuring a showdown between Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes, two of the most prolific young quarterbacks in the league. As one would expect of such a match-up, the game was quite close, with both teams tying at 17-17 going into the fourth quarter.

The Bills would then unsuccessfully attempt to convert a fourth down, which allows the Chiefs to take the lead as they capitalize by scoring a field goal. They couldn’t hold on for the win though, as the Bills’ offense executed a brilliant touchdown drive with just six minutes on the clock. This sealed the win for the Bills in this competitive game.

Final Thoughts

NFL seasons are always full of exciting and captivating moments. The games highlighted in this article featured many such memorable moments in the 2022-23 season. We can only wait to see what the 2023-24 season has to offer.
