Top Fantasy Streamers for Week 8

Top Fantasy Streamers for Week 8

Week 7 is officially in the books! Were your teams able to stave off the injury bug? Whether you need an injury replacement or want an upgrade over your current starter, here is a list of streamers with favorable matchups in Week 8.

The following players are owned in less than 50 percent of Yahoo Leagues.

Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Carolina Panthers

Bridgewater makes this list for the second week in a row. Bridgewater quietly ranks fifth in the NFL in passing yards with 1,930. He’s the QB17 through the first seven weeks. This week, Bridgewater faces an Atlanta Falcons defense giving up 333.4 passing yards per game and the most fantasy points to quarterbacks. He’s a Top-15 play this week.

Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, San Francisco 49ers

Garoppolo has a favorable matchup this week going up against a Seattle Seahawks defense giving up a league-worst 368.7 passing yards per game. The 49ers will attempt to run the ball to start the game, but the potential negative game script against a Seattle team averaging 33.8 points per game will force Garoppolo to throw. With George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, and Brandon Aiyuk at his disposal, Garoppolo should have no problem producing low-end QB1 numbers this week.

Derek Carr, QB, Las Vegas Raiders

Carr has been enjoying an efficient season throwing 13 touchdowns versus just two interceptions. He’s coming off a week where he threw 284 yards and two touchdowns against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that had given up the third-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks. This week, he faces a Cleveland Browns team that just gave up 406 yards and three touchdowns to rookie quarterback Joe Burrow. Carr has a Top-20 floor this week.

Richard Rodgers, TE, Philadelphia Eagles

Rodgers is the last tight end standing in Philadelphia. Last week, he saw eight targets and turned that into six catches for 85 yards. Rodgers faces a Cowboys defense this week, giving up the 12th most fantasy points to tight ends. With both Ertz and Goedert out this week, Rodgers is looking at another 5-8 targets. He has TE1 streaming appeal.

Trey Burton, TE, Indianapolis Colts

Burton is coming off a breakout game where he turned five targets into four catches for 58 yards and a touchdown. He has officially leapfrogged fellow tight ends Jack Doyle and Mo Alie-Cox on the depth chart and looks like Philip Rivers‘ go-to target. He has a tough matchup on paper against a Detroit Lions team giving up the second-fewest points to tight ends, but the potentially high-scoring matchup should give Burton a healthy floor.

Harrison Bryant, TE, Cleveland Browns

Bryant got the start last Sunday for an injured Austin Hooper and caught 4 passes for 56 yards and two touchdowns. Fellow tight end David Njoku also caught a touchdown, but he had two fewer targets than Bryant. With Hooper likely out until after their Week 9 bye, Bryant will be a high-end TE2 streamer.

Tennessee Titans, DST

It’s a slow week for defensive streamers, but the Titans have a solid floor going up against a Cincinnati Bengals team giving up four sacks and 1.4 turnovers per game. With the Titans picking off Ben Roethlisberger thrice last week, expect them to force a couple of turnovers while racking up multiple sacks.

Green Bay Packers, DST

The Packers face a Minnesota Vikings team giving up the ninth-most fantasy points to defenses this year. Green Bay has been getting after the quarterback this year, averaging 2.3 sacks per game. With Kirk Cousins leading the league in interceptions (10), Green Bay boasts a Top-10 floor this week.

Cleveland Browns, DST

Cleveland has been a Top-12 fantasy defense this year averaging a league-leading two takeaways per game. They also have 18 sacks this season, which is eighth-most in the NFL. The matchup isn’t ideal facing a Raiders offense giving up the 13th fewest points to fantasy defenses, but Cleveland has the playmakers to force sacks and turnovers. They are a Top-15 play this week.

Joey Slye, K, Carolina Panthers

Slye has been an elite fantasy kicker this season, scoring 64 fantasy points, which is second-most amongst all kickers. This week, he faces an Atlanta team giving up 29.6 points per game. Bridgewater and company should provide plenty of scoring opportunities for Slye.

Over the past three games, the Chargers have averaged 32.3 points per game. With rookie quarterback Justin Herbert playing lights out and moving the ball with ease, Badgley has become a safe floor play. This week, the Chargers travel to Denver to take on a Broncos defense that has given up 27.7 points per game over their last three games. Expect Badgley to see multiple scoring opportunities via field goals and extra points.
