Top Fantasy Streamers for Week 16

Week 15 is in the books! Did your team make it to the championship? Whether you need an injury replacement or want an upgrade over your current starter, here is a list of streamers with favorable matchups in Week 16.

The following players are owned in less than 50 percent of Yahoo Leagues.

Jalen Hurts, QB, Philadelphia Eagles

Hurts makes this list for the second week in a row. He followed up his impressive performance last week with 338 passing yards and three touchdowns versus zero interceptions. He also added 63 yards and a touchdown on the ground on his way to scoring 37.82 fantasy points. Hurts’s dominant showing landed him Week 15 QB1 honors, edging out Josh Allen (37.66) and Ryan Tannehill (37.02).

This week, he goes up against a Dallas Cowboys defense that is giving up the 12th-most fantasy points to quarterbacks on the season. The Cowboys have struggled mightily against mobile quarterbacks this season, allowing an average of 30.8 fantasy points to Russell Wilson, Kyler Murray, and Lamar Jackson. Hurts is a bonafide top-10 option this week.

Mitchell Trubisky, QB, Chicago Bears

Believe it or not, Trubisky has been one of the most consistent fantasy quarterbacks ever since taking over for Nick Foles back in Week 12. Trubisky is averaging 18.4 fantasy points per game over his last four, which is top-15 amongst all fantasy quarterbacks. This week, Trubisky faces a Jacksonville Jaguars defense that’s giving up the third-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. If Hurts isn’t available in your league, give Trubisky a look if you need 15-plus fantasy points this week.

Baker Mayfield, QB, Cleveland Browns

Mayfield has been on fire over his past three games, averaging 324.7 passing yards and throwing eight total touchdowns versus just one interception. He’s also completed 71.4 percent of his passes during that span. This week, he goes up against a New York Jets defense giving up the second-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. With Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt’s dominant run game opening up the passing game, Mayfield has one of the safest floors this week. He’s a top-20 option with a top-12 ceiling.

Zach Ertz, TE, Philadelphia Eagles

Ertz only caught two passes last week, but he turned that into a team-high 69 yards. He could have had an even bigger day had he come down with a tough catch in the end zone. He saw seven targets last week, which was the most he’s seen since Week 6. With Ertz finally looking healthy and Hurts making progress in the passing game, Ertz is a viable TE2 option in a potentially high-scoring game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Tyler Higbee, TE, Los Angeles Rams

Higbee has been a major disappointment this year. Many picked Higbee as a top-10 tight end after he finished the 2019-2020 season strong. Despite the letdown season, Higbee still ranks as TE17 on the year. Last week, he hauled in four catches for 67 yards and a score. Higbee has now scored twice in the last three games. This week, he has a matchup against a Seattle Seahawks team that just allowed Logan Thomas to catch 13 passes for 101 yards. With Higbee’s offensive snap percentage hovering 85 percent over the past two games, he has a top-20 floor this week.

Cole Kmet, TE, Chicago Bears

Kmet was disappointing last week despite a favorable matchup against a Minnesota Vikings team missing elite coverage linebacker Eric Kendricks. He only saw two targets, which he turned into two catches for 12 yards. With Trubisky only attempting 21 passes, Kmet didn’t get his opportunity to shine. That should change this week against a Jacksonville Jaguars team giving up the eighth-most fantasy points to tight ends. Jimmy Graham’s presence will be a thorn in the side of Kmet’s fantasy value, but the rookie should garner four to six targets this week in a favorable matchup.

Houston Texans, D/ST

Houston hosts a Cincinnati Bengals offense that is giving up the second-most fantasy points to defenses. Whether Ryan Finley or Brandon Allen starts for the Bengals this week, expect the Texans’ defense to rack up multiple sacks and turnovers while keeping their score to a minimum.

Los Angeles Chargers, D/ST

The Chargers have a favorable matchup this week, hosting a Denver Broncos team that was just shellacked by Josh Allen and the Bills, 48-19. Los Angeles’s defense isn’t elite, but they have a safe floor this week against an inconsistent Broncos team. Justin Herbert should score at will against a depleted Broncos secondary, which will force Drew Lock into throwing a ton and potentially making mistakes. Fire up the Chargers as a top-10 option this week.

Arizona Cardinals, D/ST

Arizona is averaging 14 fantasy points over the past two weeks, racking up 14 sacks and three fumble recoveries. This week, they host the San Francisco 49ers, who have given up 14.2 fantasy points per game to defenses over their past five games. The Cardinals are a safe floor play this week.

Tyler Bass, K, Buffalo Bills

Bass has the third-most fantasy points at kicker this season, totaling 133 points through 14 games. He’s tied to one of the most talented quarterbacks in the league, which gives him a safe floor every week. This week, he travels to Foxborough to take on defensive guru Bill Belichick, who should be able to limit Josh Allen in the red zone. Expect Bass to attempt two-plus field goals along with multiple extra-point attempts.

Greg Zuerlein, K, Dallas Cowboys

Zuerlein has been dominant since his Week 13 stinker, averaging 13 fantasy points per game. With the Cowboys’ offense averaging a whopping 35.5 points over their past two games, expect Zuerlein to receive multiple scoring opportunities against the Philadelphia Eagles at home this week.
