Thursday Night Football Week 7 DFS

Another divisional matchup is set in store for us on Thursday Night. The reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs head to Mile High to face the Denver Broncos. The Chiefs have lost two games in a row after starting off 4-0. The Broncos had a rough start going 0-4 but they have now won two in a row. One of these streaks has to give so without further ado, here are my top players and predictions for this divisional matchup.

FanDuel MVP

Patrick Mahomes (12,000 DK and 16,000 FD)

You have to go with Mahomes as your MVP on FanDuel. The Chiefs are coming off of back to back loses. I know the matchup does not look great on paper because the Broncos defense has allowed the fourth-fewest passing yards all year. They also just happened to catch some struggling quarterbacks at the time they played them. Look for Mahomes to do what he did last year against the Broncos when he threw for 607 yards and 5 touchdowns in two games.

DraftKings Captain

Royce Freeman (9,000 DK Captain, 6,000 DK, and 8,000 FD)

This is the game that Freeman finally finds the end zone. He is facing a Chiefs defense that has given up 99+ rushing yards to one running back in five straight games. Freeman and Phillip Lindsay split snaps but I like Freeman more as my captain because he sees more targets in the passing game. Freeman will help save you money as your captain. This will allow you to be able to afford guys like Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

Flex Players

Phillip Lindsay (8,800 DK and 13,500 FD)

This is one game where I do not mind picking two running backs from the same team. All year, Lindsay and Freeman have split snaps. That will continue this week. The Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans have shown how to beat the Chiefs. You have to run the football and keep the ball out of Mahomes’ hands. The Broncos should give Lindsay and Freeman plenty of snaps allowing them both to put up good numbers. Lindsay also had a lot of success against the Chiefs last year. This should continue and make Lindsay a great flex player.

Travis Kelce (9,800 DK and 13,000 FD)

It’s time for Kelce to find the end zone. Kelce has underperformed all year for his standards. He has only managed to score one touchdown and top 100 receiving yards once. Kelce scored a touchdown in both games vs the Broncos last year. He has had more receiving yards against the Broncos than any other team in the NFL with 762 yards. He should be able to get back on track and have another good game against the Broncos defense.

Brandon McManus (3,600 DK and 9,000 FD)

The Chiefs defense has given up yards and points all year. The Broncos should be able to move the ball but will stall out in the red zone due to their lack of playmakers. McManus has been perfect at home so look for that to continue in this game.

Game Predictions

The Broncos establish the running attack early. They are unable to finish drives resulting in field goals. The Chiefs are able to move the ball and score touchdowns allowing them to get a lead. The Broncos are then forced to abandon the run as they try and make a second-half comeback. The Chiefs end up winning the game 34-23.

Player Predictions

Mahomes– 330 passing Yards and 3 touchdowns.

Freeman– 84 rushing yards, 48 receiving yards, and 1 touchdown.

Lindsay– 92 rushing yards, 22 receiving yards, and 1 touchdown.

Kelce– 8 catches for 112 yards and 2 touchdowns.

McManus– 3/3 Field Goals and 2/2 Extra Points.
