Thursday Night Football Week 6 DFS

Brandon Braasch | October 10th, 2019

The last two Thursday Night matchups have been two of the best games all year. This week, we get the New York Giants against New England Patriots in a potentially rainy mess. This game will be a struggle for the Giants. They are missing Saquon Barkley, Evan Engram, Sterling Shepard, and Wayne Gallman. With all of these weapons out, here are my best players in this Thursday night showdown.

MVP/Captain

Sony Michel (11,400 DK Captain, 7,600 DK, and 12,500 FD)

Michel finally got it going last week. This week, he gets the Giants who have been struggling on defense. The Patriots are going to be running the football to put this game away in the second half. The weather forecast is also calling for rain and wind. This should favor the running attack more. Michel should be able to run all over this defense that has given up 650 rushing yards in only five games this year.

Flex Players

Tom Brady (11,800 DK and 16,000 FD)

Brady is going to carve up the giants secondary. He has scored 20 plus points in four out of five games this year. I would go with Brady as my captain/MVP but this game will be over by halftime. Also in a short week, the Patriots will give Michel as many carries as he can handle. Brady should still get a good amount of points making him a perfect flex play.

James White (6,800 DK and 11,000 FD)

With the Patriots receivers a little banged up White should get some good volume in the passing attack. He’s got seven plus targets in three games this year. Look for him to sneak out of the backfield and get some yards and hopefully snag a touchdown early in the game.

Golden Tate (7,000 DK and 8,000 FD)

Daniel Jones has to throw the ball to someone right? Hopefully, Tate can get some garbage time points in the second half as the Patriots defense will look to back off a little. Tate and Jones did not get off to the start a lot of people expected. However, he did have 6 targets and will look to build on that this week. Tate should easily be able to get double-digit targets since almost all of the Giant’s playmakers are out for this game.

Player to Avoid

Daniel Jones (8,000 DK and 13,500 FD)

Bill Belichick has a very good record vs rookie quarterbacks. He has never lost to a rookie quarterback at Gillette stadium. He is 19-5 vs rookie quarterbacks overall. The Patriots have the top-ranked defense against the pass this year. With the weather calling for rain, do not expect much of anything out of Jones especially without his main weapons.

Game Predictions

This is going to be an ugly game. Danny Dimes is going to struggle. The Patriots are going to have their way with the Giants defense. Brady will get going early before giving way to the rushing attack. The Patriots win big by a final score of 36-10.
