This is a must-win divisional game for both teams. The Los Angeles Chargers started the season 2-5 and have won two in a row to get back to 4-5. The Oakland Raiders are right in the middle of the playoff race as well at 4-4. Both teams are fighting to stay alive in the wild card race and even the division battle with the Kansas City Chiefs. Here are my top players in this game that should be very close and hard-fought.

DraftKings Captain & FanDuel MVP

Mike Williams (11,100 DK Captain, 7,400 DK, and 10,500 FD)

Williams is in a great spot to finally break out for a huge game. He has yet to catch a touchdown which is surprising because in 2018 he had 10 touchdowns. He gets a matchup vs the Raiders defense, who have allowed 13 touchdowns to wide receivers in eight games this season. He has been a little banged up all year. However, when he plays, he gets his targets and if he stays healthy he will get plenty of opportunities to score his first touchdown of the year.

Flex Players

Melvin Gordon (7,200 DK and 13,000 FD)

Gordon has been getting back into form the last couple of weeks. He ran for a season-high 20 carries going for 80 rushing yards and two touchdowns last week. On a short week, Gordon should be able to wear the defense down and do some damage all game. Look for Gordon to keep it going this week even against a tough matchup.

Josh Jacobs (9,400 DK and 14,500 FD)

Jacobs has been very impressive this year. As a rookie, he is seventh overall in rushing yards. He is coming off of one of his most impressive games. He ran for 120 yards on 28 carries and two touchdowns. He gets a great matchup against the Chargers defense who has struggled against the run allowing 114.1 yards per game.

Darren Waller (8,600 DK and 12,000 FD)

Waller was not able to exploit a bad Detroit Lions defense last week. He was only targeted twice and caught both of them. He should get back to his usual five-plus targets and be Derek Carr’s go-to target.

Players to Avoid

Philip Rivers (10,000 DK and 14,000 FD) & Derek Carr (9,600 DK and 14,500 FD)

I would avoid both quarterbacks in this game. Rivers and Carr have been middle of the pack when it comes to fantasy. I am more confident playing the skills players and saving the salary instead of paying up for either quarterback.

Game Predictions

Both of these teams have been playing good football. The Chargers have won two games in a row. The Raiders won last week and lost a close game against the Houston Texans the week before. This will be a back and forth game with both teams looking to stay in the playoff race. Ultimately I think the Chargers win the football game as they put together a final two-minute game-winning drive to win 34-30.

Player Predictions

Williams: 87 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Gordon: 120 total yards and one touchdown.

Jacobs: 103 rushing yards and one touchdown.

Waller: Six receptions for 74 yards and one touchdown.
