Brandon Braasch | December 12th, 2019

Tonight’s matchup should be a blowout. That doesn’t mean you can’t still win money as the Baltimore Ravens face off against the New York Jets. The Jets have been super inconsistent this year and the Ravens have dominated a lot of teams this season. This will be a battle of one of the best run defenses against one of the best run offenses. Here are my top players in this matchup.

FanDuel MVP & DraftKings Captain

Marquise Brown (12,300 DK Captain, 8,200 DK, and 8,000 FD)

The Jets are not going to fully shut down the Ravens run game. However, if they can slow it down and force the Ravens to throw more than usual, Brown will have a great game. Jamal Adams is doubtful and Brown is one of the fastest receivers in the league. Look for him to use his speed to run by the corners and make some big plays in the passing attack.

Flex Players

Lamar Jackson (13,800 DK and 17,500 FD)

Jackson is the MVP of the league and at this point, he is matchup proof. Jackson has had very good games against some of the best defenses in the Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers, and New England Patriots. I will be Playing Jackson with confidence and fully expect him to get 20+ points. I would, however, worry a little about his injury a little but he should be at full speed and ready to go. I will actually be playing a lineup or two with Robert Griffin III just incase Jackson gets pulled early as a precaution.

Gus Edwards (4,800 DK and 7,000 FD)

Edwards could see some extra carries in this matchup. If the Ravens get up early or if Mark Ingram struggles a little then they will mix it up with Edwards. Especially with the playoffs coming up soon the Ravens should let Edwards handle some carries to keep Ingram fresh. Look for Edwards to get 10+ carries, have some efficient runs, and hopefully find the end zone.

Le’Veon Bell (9,400 DK and 13,000 FD)

I know the Ravens can focus on Bell as the focal point of the offense. He should come in fresh after sitting last week because of an illness. He will likely struggle early but look for the Jets to force-feed him. Especially with the Jets being banged up and likely missing Demaryius Thomas, Bilal Powell, and Ryan Griffin for this game. Look for Bell to find the end zone late in a potential blowout.

Jamison Crowder (7,800 DK and 8,500 FD)

Crowder is due for another good game. He has had three rough games in a row. Before that, he had three good games in a row going for 75+ and a touchdown. Look for him to get back into the 75+ yards and a touchdown category.

Game Predictions

The Ravens are the better team and are going to show it throughout the game. They will struggle to run at first but after Hollywood Brown burns them a couple of times, that will open up the running lanes. Ravens overpower the Jets and win the game 34-13.

Player Predictions

Brown: six receptions for 129 yards and two touchdowns.

Jackson: 210 total yards and three total touchdowns.

Edwards: 85 total yards and one touchdown.

Bell: 97 total yards and one touchdown.

Crowder: 78 receiving yards and one touchdown.
