Thursday Night Football DFS: Week 15

austin ekeler

The final Thursday night football game for the season is officially upon us. This week, it’s a battle in the AFC West with the Las Vegas Raiders hosting the Los Angeles Chargers. The Raiders are coming into this game off of a loss to the Indianapolis Colts. That puts the Raiders in a must-win situation if they want a shot at making the playoffs. Last week, the Chargers pulled off a last-second field goal to beat the Atlanta Falcons. However, they have already been eliminated from any hope of the playoffs. That does not mean they can’t still play spoiler against a division rival. Let’s take a look at the top players in this matchup.

DraftKings Captain

Josh Jacobs (DK Captain $13,200 | FD $13,000)

This game has big game potential written all over it for Jacobs. Last game against the Chargers he went for 65 yards and one touchdown. This week, it’s time for Jon Gruden to rely on his star running back to help them win this football game. They have an awful defense and the best way to keep them off the field is to control the clock and run the football. This season, Jacobs has had three games of two or more touchdowns. Look for him to score multiple touchdowns to lead this offense to a win and keep their playoff hopes alive.

FanDuel MVP

Justin Herbert (DK $11,800 | FD $16,000)

The Raiders have one of the worst defenses in the league. Herbert has struggled the last couple of weeks but against this defense, he should find some success. They have allowed 22 passing touchdowns and four rushing touchdowns to quarterbacks this season. This game is looking like it’s going to be a shootout so, Herbert should see plenty of opportunities to put up points. Against the Raiders earlier this season, he threw for 326 yards and two touchdowns. Look for him to put up similar stats in this game.

Utility Players

Austin Ekeler (DK $10,400 | FD $13,500)

Ekeler is a little banged up but should be good to play in this game. He gets a lot of work in the passing attack and that helps his fantasy value a lot. Since he returned from injury, Ekeler has seen at least nine targets in each of those three games. Although, he has yet to score a touchdown and that has limited his fantasy scoring. The good news for Ekeler is that the Raiders have allowed 16 rushing touchdowns this season. If he can find the end zone and with his receiving ability, he will likely be one of the highest scorers in this single game slate.

Daniel Carlson (DK $3,600 | FD $9,500)

Carlson has been excellent all season. He has only missed two field goals in 28 attempts. Both of those were on the road and he has not missed a kick at home all season. This game should be higher scoring since both defenses have struggled. The over/under in this game is currently set at 53.5. That should give Carlson plenty of opportunities to kick field goals and extra points.
