Thursday Night DFS: Week 7

evan engram

This Thursday night football game features an NFC East divisional battle. The 1-4-1 Philadelphia Eagles host the 1-5 New York Giants. This a huge game in the NFC East because the division is truly wide open this year. The Dallas Cowboys currently sit in first with a record of only 2-4. Whichever team wins this game could be in first or tied for first place after this weekend’s games. Let’s jump right into the top players for the divisional showdown.

DraftKings Captain & FanDuel MVP

Carson Wentz (DK Captain $16,200 | FD $15,500)

Wentz is worth paying up for at the Captain slot even though he is the most expensive. He has had to deal with a lot of injuries around him all season long. That has not stopped him from putting up solid numbers. He has been using his legs a lot this season and already has a career-high four rushing touchdowns. DeSean Jackson will be returning from injury and with his speed, he should help open up some passing lanes for Wentz. Pairing him with the surprise free agent pick up Travis Fulgham, and Wentz should be able to put up some good numbers this week.

Value DraftKings Captain

Evan Engram (DK Captain $12,000 | FD $10,000)

Engram has not scored over 10 fantasy points in any game this season. He has however continued to get targets. He’s seen a total of 35 targets this season even though the last two weeks he was only targeted five times. The good news for Engram is the Eagles have struggled against tight ends. They have allowed a total of six touchdowns and 376 receiving yards this season. Engram needs to get things going for the Giants offense that has struggled to put up points this season. Look for Engram to finally break through and score 10+ fantasy points.

Utility Players

Travis Fulgham (DK $8,800 | FD $12,000)

Fulgham has a touchdown in three straight games and has proven that he is the Eagles top receiving option. This week could be a tough matchup if he draws James Bradberry. Bradberry has been elite so far this season and has shut down top receivers all season long. However, hopefully, with Jackson back, he will be the guy Bradberry covers most of the game. Fulgham will see a high volume of targets no matter who covers him so look for him to have another solid game and keep that touchdown streak alive.

Jalen Hurts (DK $6,000 | FD $5,500)

This pick may seem crazy but Hurts could see more opportunities with Miles Sanders out for this game. He saw a 10 percent snap count percentage last week. Hurts is a risky play but he could easily catch defenses off guard with either his arm or his legs. He was on the field and attracted attention from the defense when Sanders ripped off his big run that resulted in a 73-yard touchdown. Doug Pederson is getting him more involved and this week would be a perfect opportunity to unleash him. Hurts is however only a GPP play this week. If you are playing cash do not play Hurts.
