It has been a crazy first few days of free agency for the NFL. Here is a quick recap of the jaw-dropping, league-shattering moves that transpired.
First, the Texans traded DeAndre Hopkins to the Cardinals for draft picks and David Johnson. That will now give the Cardinals one of the premier offenses in the league with Kyler Murray, Larry Fitzgerald, Hopkins, Christian Kirk, and Kenyan Drake. That is dangerous.
The next big move came as the Vikings traded away one of their star wide receivers, sending Stefon Diggs to the Bills for several high picks, including a first-rounder. The Bills now boast an offense that includes Josh Allen, Devin Singletary and Stefon Diggs while the Vikings now have several picks in the upper rounds of the draft to retool.
The next big move was the Carolina Panthers’ decision to shop Cam Newton, and they found themselves a new franchise quarterback along the way. They inked Teddy Bridgewater to a three-year, $62 million deal to make him their new franchise signal-caller. The Panthers, though, have yet to find a trading partner for Newton.
Then, the biggest move of all arrived as the face of the NFL switched homes. Tom Brady chose the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as his new team and is joining forces with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Ronald Jones. Brady will immediately turn the Bucs into major playoff contenders.
The final move was Todd Gurley. The Rams released Gurley after attempting to trade him and Gurley has gone right back home as he has signed on with the Atlanta Falcons, making a great offense look scary. Atlanta now boasts Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley, Todd Gurley, and Hayden Hurst.
The NFC South will most likely be the most competitive and watched division in the NFL, boasting the Bucs with Brady, Godwin and Evans, the Falcons with their trio of stars, the Saints with their dynamite squad, and the Panthers with Bridgewater and McCaffrey.
