The College World Series starts tonight and we have a matchup between Arkansas who has a record of 47-19 on the season against Oregon State who has a record of 53-11-1 on the season.

How They Got To the College World Series

Oregon State
Oregon State was also the number one seed, but in the Corvallis Regional Bracket, advancing against the likes of LSU, San Diego State, and Northwestern State. The Beavers defeated their opponents 35-4 in their three games played. In the first game, Oregon State defeated Northwestern State by a score of 9-3, in their second game of the Regional, they defeated LSU by a score of 14-1, and in the third and decisive game of the Regional, and they defeated LSU for a second time, this time by a score of 12-0.

In the Super Regionals, it was a best of three series against Minnesota, and Oregon State didn’t waste any firepower, defeating the Gophers in consecutive games, with scores of 8-1 and 6-3 to advance to the College World Series Bracket Round.

In the Bracket Round of the College World Series, the Beavers were in a double elimination tournament against the likes of North Carolina, Washington, and Mississippi State. Oregon State lost their first game of the round, 8-6 against North Carolina. After the first game, Oregon State could not have any mistakes, and they did not. They defeated their next opponent, Washington by a score of 14-5. Their third game of the round pitted them against North Carolina again, and they weren’t going to be defeated for a second time, defeating the Tar Heels, 11-6. Since they were in the losers bracket Oregon State had to defeat Mississippi State in consecutive games to advance to the College World Series Final, and that’s exactly what they did by the score of 12-2 and 5-2.

Getting to the College World Series Final, Oregon State had a record of 9-1 and outscored their opponents in those ten games 97-31. Oregon State is also ready for battle against their opponents to try to capture the College World Series trophy. It doesn’t matter if it’s a pitching duel or a high scoring affair, Oregon State has the tools needed to take home the trophy.

After watching the entirety of the NCAA Post Season, I believe that Oregon State is going to defeat Arkansas for the trophy, and I think the series will go a total of 3 games, with Oregon State losing the opening game. Time will only tell if my predictions are correct, but either way, it has been an exciting College World Series so far.
