The 2019-2020 UEFA Champions League final is set. Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich will square off in Lisbon tomorrow.
Bayern Munich is looking to win its first title since 2013 and sixth title overall. On the other hand, Paris Saint-Germain is looking to hoist the title for the first time, as well as become only the second French club to win it. Les Parisiens are also the first French club since 2004 to be in the Champions League final. Bayern Munich is making its eleventh appearance in the final.

The knockout stage was overwhelmingly shocking. Both Juventus and Manchester City were eliminated by surprise dark horse Olympique Lyonnais. Barcelona was dumped after an 8-2 loss to Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals. Also, Liverpool, the defending champions were ousted in the Round of 16 along with Real Madrid.
Analyzing Both Clubs:
Bayern Munich is a strong and loaded team. Striker Robert Lewandowski is the tournament’s highest scorer(15 goals) and Serge Gnabry is the third highest(9 goals). Bayern Munich is coming into the final with 42 goals in the tournament, which is the second-most goals in a tournament in the era of the Champions League. In the knockout stage, Bayern Munich has outscored their opponents 18 to 3.
Paris Saint-Germain is also a loaded team with good strength. Their 25 goals are the second-most in the tournament. Les Parisiens have conceded just five goals, which is the fewest of any team in this year’s tournament. Angel Di Maria and Kylian Mbappe are both in the tournament’s top five in assists. In their last ten Champions League games, Les Parisiens have kept a total of seven clean sheets.
Who’s The Favorite To Win And Why?
Both clubs have solid defending with an excellent offensive attack. Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain both have several well-known players on their squads respectively. There’s much excitement for both clubs.
However, the favorite has to be Bayern Munich. They have a strong winning mentality and unique team chemistry. Bayern Munich’s path to the final tells the story. Based on their performance in the knockout stage, Bayern Munich has developed a skill at creating mayhem for their opponents. At this point, it’s safe to say that this Bayern Munich team may go down as one of the greatest in the history of the Champions League.
As talented as PSG is, their mentality is a cause for concern. Besides, PSG has a history of crumbling under great pressure. Les Parisiens has managed to fight off the pressure, but now that they’re in the final with a dangerous opponent, the pressure is more intense than ever. To say that they will have their hands full against Bayern Munich would be a major understatement.
Although the odds have heavily stacked against them, Les Parisiens are perfectly capable of defying the odds and pulling off a miraculous upset. Based on the surprising results leading to the final, anything can happen.
Both Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich need to step on the pitch knowing that anything can happen. The most important that these two teams have to keep in mind is that underestimating your opponent can be a costly mistake
