The Tennessee Titans entered the 2020 NFL Draft with clear needs on the offensive line, defensive line, and in the secondary. With only six picks in this draft, the Titans tried their best to address their needs and it led to a reach or two.

Round 1, Pick 29: Isaiah Wilson, OT, Georgia
I have a feeling that Titans’ fans are going to really hate on me for this grade, but allow me to explain. Wilson definitely fills a hole that was created by the departure of Jack Conklin, but the value was off. Wilson was a late-riser in the draft process, but he really shouldn’t have been. I had a third-round grade on him due to his lack of movement ability. He’s a great anchor but he’s not a fantastic athlete. There were better tackles on the board that they could have taken such as Ezra Cleveland and Josh Jones. I see a lot of potential for Wilson though, so hopefully, he can tap into that and develop into a franchise tackle.
Grade: C+
Round 2, Pick 61: Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU
Fulton should have been a first-rounder, so the fact that he was still there in the second round was insane to me. The Titans didn’t miss, either. This is fantastic value and it fills a need for Tennessee. Fulton is a lengthy corner who will thrive in zone coverage, but his man coverage ability isn’t too far off from where it needs to be.
Grade: A+
Round 3, Pick 93: Darrynton Evans, RB, Appalachian State
Due to the departure of Dion Lewis, the Titans needed a change of pace back with a different skillset than Derrick Henry. Evans is that guy, but the value is just a little bit off for me here. I had a late-fourth round grade on Evans, so this was a little early for me, but it doesn’t really bother me too much because Tennessee got what they needed.
Grade: B
Round 5, Pick 174: Larrell Murchison, DT, North Carolina State
The Titans fill another need here at defensive tackle after the Jurrell Casey trade, but once again, it just feels too early for Murchison. I’m not one to sit here and pick apart day three picks too much, but if they were going to look at a defensive tackle here, there are a plethora of other guys that I would have rather taken here like Bravvion Roy, Khalil Davis, and Robert Windsor. Murchison gets after the quarterback pretty well, but he probably will only see the field in certain packages right away.
Grade: C+
Round 7, Pick 224: Cole McDonald, QB, Hawaii
Ryan Tannehill isn’t going to be around forever, so they might as well take a chance on a guy late in the seventh-round! McDonald has loads of potential, but I’m just worried he’s strictly a good college quarterback. He forced too many throws at Hawaii which led to too many turnovers, but he was also 2nd in the FBS in yards and touchdowns. There’s room for McDonald to become a great quarterback, and it’s just areally interesting, fun pick for Tennessee.

Round 7, Pick 243: Chris Jackson, DB, Marshall
I didn’t think Jackson would get drafted, but I’m glad he did. He’s a solid tackler with good anticipation ability. Definitely a developmental pick here, but it’s a really good one. Jackson should at least see some special teams snaps right away in Tennessee.
Grade: A-
The Titans reached down the board a couple of times to address a position of need, and I can’t blame them too much for it. At times, there were better players at those positions available, but clearly not in Jon Robinson’s mind. Tennessee drafted a lot of guys who can develop into studs for this team, but with high potential comes high risk. We could look back in five years at how amazing this draft class was across the board or how poor it was. Fulton was far and away the best pick of the draft. Isaiah Wilson was a bit of a head-scratcher for me at 29, but it was certainly a need, so I don’t blame Robinson too much.
Overall Grade: B
