NFL Power Rankings: Week Five
Week five was a weird week with a ton of close games and some unexpected winners. The Patriots still hold the top spot but there was a ton of movement throughout the rankings.

Week five of the NFL season did not disappoint, it had everything we come to expect in pro-football. This Sunday’s notebook features a London game, a big performance by a Carolina Panthers running back, Steelers injury worries and another lively performance by Gardner Minshew. The New York Jets had another week to forget.
GAME THEORY
All my plays are based on DraftKings pricing. Its also important to note that when I list a player as a fade, I do not mean I will have 0% of them, but I will be way under the field as far as exposure goes, and likely will not play them on single entry lineups.
Are the Buccaneers a fluke or a legitimate contender? A look at what the analytics say at the one-quarter mark of the 2019 season.
The 2019 NFL season is already a quarter of the way finished and team’s identity are starting to shape into form. At this point, there are only three undefeated teams left in the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs and surprisingly the San Francisco 49ers. If this course continues, the playoff race will be as exciting as ever, but what have we learned over the first quarter of the season? The Scorecrow family has put together another roundtable giving you their opinions on five NFL questions. Be sure to follow all the writers on twitter and ask any questions you may have regarding their answers. Without any further ado, let’s get into it.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are projected to have just shy of $80 million in cap space in 2020. Count Shaq Barrett and Carl Nassib extensions among their top priorities heading into next season.
The Los Angeles Rams are currently one of the best teams in the NFL with a 3-0 record. However, with success follows complacency. A trap the Rams are trying to resist falling into as they prepare to play the 1-2 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers reworked former Pro-Bowler Jason Pierre-Paul’s contract making him a free agent after this season. Could the move be a prelude to an extension for Shaq Barrett?
Well, it happened again and if you had Saquon Barkley like me, you know the agony of his injury. If you are in an IDP league though, you know that two individuals from last week’s report should’ve carried you to a win! I know it did for me and that is the ups and downs of being in IDP leagues. Those defensive players can help carry you to a win or they can be duds and not help at all.
There was a lot movement in my rankings this week but that is a result of it still being early in the season and still finding out the identity of teams. The Giants are the biggest movers this week as they moved up nine spots with the play of Daniel Jones.
Ken Filler previews Sunday’s matchup between the New York Giants, led by rookie Daniel Jones, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, led by Jameis Winston.
