Shock, tears, and silence ensued for the United States women’s national team once the fact set in that they were out of the 2023 Women’s World Cup following the Round of 16.

Despite only getting underway just days ago, the IIHF officially canceled this year’s World Juniors this afternoon. This is happening as a result of Omicron COVID-19 cases rising not just in general, but among participating players as well.

Sweden is set to hit 10 years since their last World Juniors win if they don’t take gold this year. On top of having their absurd 54 game round-robin win streak snapped by the Russians last year, they also have only medaled just four times since their 2012 win.

France has finished its first two games of this year’s Nations League and there’s a lot of improving to do.
