The Boston Bruins met the New York Islanders on Tuesday night at Nassau Coliseum and played their best game of the season as they took the Islanders down 5-0. The win came in a very important moment for the Bruins, as they were sorely in need of a convincing win.
It was quite a special night on Saturday at TD Garden. The Boston Bruins played an important game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. It was also St. Patrick’s Day eve in Boston and Conor McGregor made his way to the TD Garden. The B’s needed two points badly after dropping all of their three games on the road prior to the contest on Saturday. They pulled it out, largely thanks to Brad Marchand.
For the third game in a row, the Boston Bruins have failed to make a comeback.
Most expected the Bruins would fumble when it came to regaining momentum after the Pittsburgh Penguins snapped their 19-game point streak, but no one assumed they would come up empty on their three-game road trip.
The Boston Bruins have the second-best points streak in the franchise history behind them. Now it’s time to look ahead for new challenges. But so far, these challenges are very difficult to overcome for the Bruins. However, there is no reason to panic for them, yet.
For the first time in almost two months, the Boston Bruins came up empty-handed. The Bruins battled throughout the game and gained some momentum late in the third against Pittsburgh, but unfortunately, an empty-net goal ended the chances of keeping the Bruins point streak alive.
The Bruins came far from making headline moves ahead of the 2018-19 season. But because of these two signings, none of that matters.
It hasn’t come easy for the Bruins, but they found a way to extend their point streak to 19 consecutive games. Saturday’s game versus the Ottawa Senators wasn’t the easiest one, despite the lopsided matchup on paper. However, the B’s showed great patience again and claimed yet another victory.
It has been yet another successful outing for the Boston Bruins, as they stormed back and beat the Carolina Whalers — er, Hurricanes — 4-3 in overtime. The Bruins now have at least one point in 17 straight games. It’s also a season-high five-game winning streak for goaltender Jaroslav Halak.
The Boston Bruins are on a roll; they have captured at least one point in each of their last 16 games.
The defense has been stellar, the offense is delivering, and goaltending is magnificent. However, there are some question marks remaining as Boston eyes the postseason.
