For the first time since 2010, the Cleveland Browns finally can say that they are not the worst team in the AFC North. Finishing 7-8-1 last year gave them third place in their division and their best record since 2014 (7-9). While this was partly due to the firing of former Head Coach Hue Jackson, and former Offensive Coordinator Todd Haley, we need to give a lot of credit to Baker Mayfield. Baker took the league by storm starting in Week 3 against the New York Jets. Now the number one overall pick from the 2018 NFL Draft is in the running for Most Valuable Player. Should we believe the hype? Whenever there is a question about a guy’s on-field performance, the best answer is to turn to the film, and that is exactly what we did to answer the question of whether or not we should believe the hype around Baker Mayfield.

With the upcoming NFL season upon us and the 2019 rookie draft has come and gone most people in the offseason have forgotten about those that may have not lived up to the hype of their rookie season in 2018 coming out of the draft. Whether it be the team that drafted them or simply waiting their time on the depth chart, I’ve selected players that should be bought low in dynasty with expectations that 2019 will be their year and value come to fruition. The Los Angeles Rams made it a point to retool this offseason in hopes of returning to the Super Bowl. One of the major pickups for last year’s NFC Champions was former Baltimore Ravens safety Eric Weddle. Especially when his peers go on to vote him as one of the Top 100 players in the NFL.
The 2018 NFL season for the Washington Redskins was a roller coaster of highs and lows. The team ended up starting four different quarterbacks because of injury and poor play. The rest of the team couldn’t avoid the injury bug either, as the Redskins were signing free agent offensive linemen during the season and starting them that Sunday. The team finished 7-9 and missed the playoffs by two games. Alex Smith broke his leg in a gruesome injury in week 11 verse the Houston Texans. The Redskins were 6-3 entering that game but went on to struggle on offense to close out the season, only picking up one win against the Jacksonville Jaguars in week 15, winning 16-13.
