The New York Rangers started the week squaring off against the undefeated Florida Panthers. They showed that no team is undefeatable as they took down the only team left with a zero in the loss column.
There have been times the New York Rangers were better on the road than they were at home. Unfortunately, this road trip is not a prime example of that.
After nine games, the New York Rangers are 6-2-1. It’s better than most fans were thinking, and it gives hope to possible postseason action.
You might think that missing two of your top-six forwards would upset the delicate balance that Gerard Gallant has put into place for the New York Rangers. The absence of Kaapo Kakko and Ryan Strome is noticeable, especially when looking at the offensive play of the team.
Happy start of the NHL season to hockey fans everywhere. With games now in full swing on a nightly basis, the quest for all 32 teams to capture the Stanley Cup has begun.

The Rangers were also looking to pick up some players with size and strength, based on reading between the lines of Drury’s stated plans for the future of the Rangers.
Gerard Gallant is now the new head coach of the New York Rangers on a four-year deal. The hiring is the first major move Chris Drury has made since being named the President and General Manager on May 5.
Setting aside the craziness of a shortened season thanks to Covid-19, the 2020-2021 season didn’t go as planned for the New York Rangers. The Rangers weren’t firing on all cylinders, thanks to several issues.
After a tumultuous ending to what became a disappointing season for the New York Rangers, it’s now up to Chris Drury to determine the franchise’s future.
