With the series tied at two games each, Damian Lillard and Nikola Jokic gave NBA fans the game of the year. In front of a friendly crowd of 10,463 at the Ball Arena in Denver, the Nuggets defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 147-140 in double overtime.
The Miami Heat were just eliminated from the NBA playoffs. In the first round, the team ended up being swept by the Milwaukee Bucks led by Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Heat finished the season as the sixth seed, with a record of 40-32.
The Indiana Pacers finished this season with a 34-38 record. This gave the team the 9th seed in the Eastern Conference, which clinched the team a spot in the new play-in tournament. They would eventually be eliminated and now look to the offseason.
As with after the first time that LeBron James left Cleveland to win titles elsewhere, the Cavaliers have talented young pieces, but seemingly with no plan on how to contend in their division, let alone their conference or the NBA.
The San Antonio Spurs weren’t expected to do much going into the 2020-2021 NBA season, and they didn’t. Gregg Popovich’s team won one more game in the regular season than they were expected to, finishing with a 33-39 record and making it into the new NBA Play-In Tournament. San Antonio, as the No. 10 seed, was quickly eliminated by No. 9 seed Memphis Grizzlies.
The Toronto Raptors went into the 2020-2021 NBA season with hopes of making the playoffs with Kyle Lowry and Pascal Siakam leading the way. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.
The New York Knicks are now trailing the Atlanta Hawks 2-1 in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, partly due to the lack of offense coming from RJ Barrett and Julius Randle. However, veteran guard, Derrick Rose is forcing Tom Thibodeau to insert him into the starting lineup for the rest of the series.
