I’ve always been a big fan of DeMarcus Cousins.
I understand that’s not a particularly universal opinion – his reputation has always one that takes into consideration supposed character problems and volatility.
But he’s an incredibly talented basketball player and incredibly passionate about what he does.
And that’s why his sequence of injuries ever since January 26, 2018, is so upsetting.
Last season, the Miami Heat missed the playoffs for the third time in the past five seasons. In order to improve their chances for this upcoming season, the Heat acquired all-star Jimmy Butler in a sign and trade from Philadelphia 76ers. Miami traded Josh Richardson to the 76ers for Butler and also moved Hassan Whiteside to the Portland Trail Blazers for Meyers Leonard. With Butler in the fold, the Heat are likely to be better.
