On the surface, the Tampa Bay Rays appear to have failed in 2021. A lot of old-school baseball minds have been pumping their fists and making sure to let the world know that “nerds” don’t win baseball games.
The Cleveland Indians were 80-82 this season. It was the first time they have been under .500 since 2012. Let’s take a look back at how 2021 went down for the Indians.
The San Diego Padres entered 2021 with astronomically high expectations, and rightfully so. The team entered the season with rising superstar Fernando Tatis Jr., complemented by established veterans like Manny Machado, Tommy Pham and Yu Darvish.

Everybody knew the Los Angeles Dodgers were one of the teams to watch this postseason. Now, after narrowly edging out
In a season with not many expectations for the Seattle Mariners, they shocked the world and made a major push for their first postseason trip in 20 years.
The Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros face off this week in a rematch of the 2018 ALCS. Boston took that last postseason meeting, but Houston enters this one with a better 2021 record.
The two teams with the best records in all of Major League Baseball met up for a battle of heavyweights in the National League Division Series. The Los Angeles Dodgers (106-56), after defeating the St. Louis Cardinals in the NL Wild Card Game, met up with the San Francisco Giants (107-55).
