Yet again, Washington is in the spotlight following the release of Dwayne Haskins on Monday.
The Cincinnati Bengals (2-9-1) host the Dallas Cowboys (3-9) in a matchup of disappointing 2020 teams playing with backup quarterbacks. This could be one of the most entertaining games this weekend between a pair of teams that have nothing to lose.
In this season thus far, Dallas and Washington have been unsuccessful, as has the whole NFC East. The Cowboys this week are playing for a third win, to add to their 2-4 record. Meanwhile, Washington is looking to put their foot back into the door for the division, and add to their 1-5 record. Both quarterbacks in this game are coming off absolutely dismal performances, so anything that steps up their Week 6 disappearing act would be a push in the right way.
In the first matchup between the two NFC East teams, the Washington Football Team and New York Giants held a defensive battle on the field. Despite Washington controlling most of the second half, the Giants’ clutch defense edged out their rival in the fourth quarter. A fourth quarter touchdown fumble recovery by Tae Crowder and two-point conversation stop gave the boys in blue a 20-19 victory.
In a Week 6 divisional matchup, the New York Giants (0-5) face off with the Washington Football Team (1-4) for the first time this year. Both teams would be way out of the playoff race if they played in any division aside from the NFC East. Since they play in that extremely weak division, they are still in the divisional hunt, as the Dallas Cowboys are in first place at 2-3. The Washington Football Team will travel to MetLife Stadium for this game.
Off to different starts to the season through four weeks, the Los Angeles Rams travel to FedEx Field to battle the Washington Football Team this Sunday. Trying to jump-start their offense after a slow start, Washington will turn to third-year quarterback Kyle Allen after benching Dwayne Haskins.
