The quarterback position has been a revolving door the past few seasons for the Indianapolis Colts. After their trade for Carson Wentz yesterday, that trend has finally ended. However, that is only the first of many moves the Colts will make this offseason.
Entering the 2020 NFL season, the Detroit Lions knew they weren’t Super Bowl contenders. However, the expectation was to be in the playoff chase and ultimately end up in the postseason. After finishing last season 3-12-1, ownership accepted that the team was hit hard by injuries, and it was a lost year. However, the Lions finished the 2020 season with a 5-11 record, losing five of their last seven games, including four straight to end the year.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and hopefully, you can spend it with family and friends. As much as we all love the food, the thing we are most thankful for today is football. Usually, with only one game a week on Thursday, there is only one article. However, with two games on because of Thanksgiving, I am doing a separate breakdown for each game. In the first game, we have the Houston Texans taking on the Detroit Lions.
The Indianapolis Colts continued their early success on the 2020 season on Sunday. The Colts beat the Detroit Lions by a score of 41-21 led by Philip Rivers and a defense that continues to impress. This game went about as expected but was less competitive than many anticipated.
On Sunday, 500 people will be able to watch the Indianapolis Colts and Detroit Lions play in Ford Field. The 4-2 Colts are coming off of their bye week and look to continue their success against the 3-3 Lions. Detroit will look to keep pace with the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers in the NFC North, while the Colts look to keep pace with the Titans in the AFC South and Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens in the wild card race.
The Detroit Lions came out of their bye week re-energized and with a statement to make against the Jacksonville Jaguars. They set the tone from the opening kickoff, jumping out to an early lead and never taking their foot off the gas.
Not many people had hope for the Lions heading into 2019. Their first game ended in a tie due to an unneeded timeout. Detroit won the next two games against the Chargers and Eagles behind the offense firing on all cylinders under Darrell Bevell’s new offense.
