This was a game the Miami Heat was supposed to take care of and get the win as the Atlanta Hawks were missing several players, including Trae Young. With a win, the Heat would’ve jumped to the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference standings.
The Miami Heat will begin their four-game road trip on Sunday against the Portland Trailblazers. They will be without their starting guard Victor Oladipo, who’s sidelined with a right knee injury. With Oladipo sidelined, it opens up minutes for Kendrick Nunn.
For the first time this season, the Miami Heat have won two consecutive games. As expected, the Heat were in an early dogfight against the Toronto Raptors.
Monday’s game was starting to look like another letdown for the Miami Heat. The Detroit Pistons jumped out to a 28-9 lead after just seven minutes of action.
Facing elimination, the Indiana Pacers were not going away without a fight. Just like the other games this series, the Miami Heat jumped out to a double-digit lead and did enough to close the game down the stretch. With the win, Miami advances to the Eastern Conference Semifinals and will face the winner of the Milwaukee Bucks vs Orlando Magic series.

If Miami wants to make noise in the playoffs, they have to find a way to play better on the road.
