In a rematch of 2021’s first round, the Colorado Avalanche and the St. Louis Blues face off in Round 2.
The St. Louis Blues qualified for the playoffs for the third straight season a year ago. Winners of 27 games during the Covid-19 shortened season, they secured the fourth and final spot in the West Division.
The Blues were able to make it into the playoffs for the 2020-21 season. However, their Stanley Cup dreams were crushed by the Colorado Avalanche in a four-game sweep. Now they need to reassess for next season.

The offense was struggling to put the puck in the net, and Jake Allen was an inconsistent nightmare in the crease. Vladimir Tarasenko uncharacteristically recorded just 24 points in the first 40 games of the season. The Blues had high hopes going into the season after acquiring Ryan O’Reilly from the Buffalo Sabres as well as signing veteran winger Tyler Bozak. They had the pieces for a great season, but it all started at the top.
The Boston Bruins and St. Louis Blues were back at TD Garden for Game 2 of the 2019 Stanley Cup Final. The Blues down 1-0 in the series were looking to knot up the series and bring it back to St Louis with the home-ice advantage. Blues Forward Robert Thomas was scratched from this game after picking up an injury from the open ice hit by Torey Krug. Thomas has not been participating in most practices and morning skates. Robby Fabbri would take his spot in the lineup.
