Prior to the 2020 NFL season, three questions were posed for each of the 32 teams. This is the recap and answers to those questions for the Detroit Lions.
Multiple reports on Saturday said that the Matthew Stafford trade would be finalized before the Super Bowl. Well, the trade happened later that night. Late on Saturday night, the Detroit Lions found a trade partner for Stafford. Ultimately, it was the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams weren’t even thought of as a potential suitor until late in the process. The Rams divisional foe, the 49ers, was thought of to be the running partner for the Lions in the trade. In the end, the Rams gave a king’s ransom to the Lions for Stafford.
Sean McVay and the 2020 Los Angeles Rams recovered from the Super Bowl hangover they’d suffered a year earlier. The Rams missed the playoffs in 2019 after losing to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LIII but returned to the postseason thanks to a 10-6 finish.
The road to Super Bowl 55 runs through Lambeau Field and the red-hot Green Bay Packers. After hearing about the Los Angeles Rams’ number one ranked defense all week, Aaron Rodgers responded by leading the Packers’ offense to 484 yards in their 32-18 win over the Rams.
There will be plenty of highlighted matchups between the star players on each side of the ball for Green Bay and Los Angeles on Saturday. In order to truly understand the impact each matchup will have and who is most likely to win each matchup, here is the Rams vs. Packers: What the Stats Say.
After defeating the Arizona Cardinals to advance to the postseason, the Los Angeles Rams hit the road to take on the NFC West Champion Seattle Seahawks. This is the second time in three weeks the two rivals will go up against each other.
In one of the late afternoon slots in week number 16, the Los Angeles Rams traveled to Seattle to battle the Seahawks in an all-important NFC West showdown. Backed by a stellar effort from their much-improved defense, Seattle captured their 5th NFC West title under head coach Pete Carroll in a 20-9 victory. Holding the high-powered Los Angeles passing attack to just 216 yards through the air, Ken Norton Jr’s group sacked quarterback Jared Goff three times while also stopping the team at their own one-yard line to set the tone for the win.
In a marquee battle in the NFC West on Sunday afternoon, the Seattle Seahawks (10-4) travel to Los Angeles to battle the Rams (9-5).
In a game with major playoff implications on the line for both teams, the New England Patriots (6-7) were dominated by the Los Angeles Rams (9-4). The loss exposed multiple holes in New England’s offense while solidifying the Rams as legitimate contenders this year.
Tonight we have a matchup of playoff hopefuls as the 6-6 New England Patriots head out west to take on the 8-4 Los Angeles Rams. Currently, the Patriots are on the outside of the playoff picture looking in while the Rams are at the top of the NFC West division. With both teams fighting for the playoffs, we can expect a competitive game.
With all the rescheduling from Thanksgiving and the Wednesday afternoon game between the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers, we haven’t had Thursday night football in two weeks. However, the fantasy playoffs are here, and to kick them off, we have a rematch of Super Bowl LIII between the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams.
