With Anaheim 1 now just two days away, this year’s 250 West field has officially rounded into form. Typically, the heavy hitter teams like to play games with who they send out for the opening Regional Championship.
The track that had been the opening round of the year up until last year now closes out the AMA Pro Motocross calendar. Hangtown has been a staple in the sport for over a half-century and its return to the schedule is most certainly welcomed.
A huge day today for the red brand, as Honda picks up their first AMA Motocross title since 2013 with Eli Tomac. Jett Lawrence at just 18 years and change old has won his first championship as a professional rider.
The Sandbox in Southwick made its triumphant return to the AMA Motocross Schedule on Saturday after not taking place in 2020. The 250 Class saw its fifth different winner in five nationals. One of the top 450 championship contenders avoided catastrophe in the points standings, while another did not share that level of fortune at The Wick.
The three-race stay at Atlanta Motor Speedway is now completed for Monster Energy Supercross. With just two rounds to go on the year, the 250 West title race took a major step forward into its conclusion.
The Supercross season is winding down. Each race is becoming more important, and each position gained or lost is pivotal to the final standings. Saturday’s race in Dallas was no different.
Round 2 of Supercross in Dallas saw the 250 West Points lead shift due to a post-race penalty. Current 450 points leader Cooper Webb was once again able to put his KTM on the top step of the podium. For now, the fourth time in the last five rounds. We cover that and more in this recap of Round 11 of Monster Energy Supercross.
The first of three rounds of Supercross in Dallas was completed on Saturday evening. For the first time since Round Three in Houston, there is a change at the top of the pecking order in the 450 Class, and an upstart rookie took home his first career win in dominating fashion.
The 2021 Monster Energy Supercross 250 West Series Championship begins tonight in noted west coast crown jewel city Orlando, Florida. While this field may not be as top-heavy as the 250 East series is, the west perhaps provides a greater chance to provide a multitude of podium contenders and hopefully race winners with a solid mix of 250 veterans and some rookies making the jump from the amateur ranks.
