Well, week one has come and gone. While some games were close and others blowouts, on the defensive side of the ball, players started to stand out and make a mark right off the bat for their teams. In a review of last week’s edition, we saw the unfortunate injury bug claim Johnathan Allen after playing only seven snaps when he injured his knee. Richard Sherman though shined with five tackles, four solos, two pass deflections and an interception for a pick-six! Zach Cunningham has five tackles against New Orleans and my sleeper pick of Jerome Baker logged eight tackles, just shy of making the double-digit mark. Going into week two the matchups are looking juicy for these guys listed below!
Michael Travis Rose recaps Sunday’s tie game between the Arizona Cardinals and Atlanta Falcons.
Welcome to the first edition of our 2019 NFL Weekly Rookie Rankings! We will be taking a look at the previous week of football and showcasing 15 of the best rookie performances. Week one brought us a lot of offensive skill players who either showed their worth or surprised us and outperformed their expectations, including four pass-catchers eclipsing the century mark in yardage. Let us start with a couple of honorable mentions.
Week one of the NFL season always has breakout performances, with some of them being unforeseen. It’s a battle of the Arizona Cardinals young gun, Kyler Murray, going against the seasoned veteran from Detroit, Matthew Stafford. Murray wants to make his name while Stafford wishes to show he knows his game. Who wins?
This article was posted last week as an early peek at value for week one. This is a revision of that article with all the pertinent news that has happened in a whirlwind week leading up to opening Sunday.
The Detroit Lions are on the prowl. In Matt Patricia’s second season as Head Coach, the squad is hoping to improve on their 6-10 record from last season. In their way stands a host of foes. Kyler Murray, Kirk Cousins, Derek Carr, and Aaron Rodgers, just to name a few. To take down these men and take on the challenge of winning the NFC North, you must have a sound 53-man roster. 6-10 tells me there’s a lot of work to do, and I’m sure it says the same to my fellow readers. However, let’s become familiar with the roster that will be with us for this 2019 season.
Joe Heller sees a few upsets coming our way this week.
Ryan Potts looks at three claims and either confirms or debunks the theories.
