Welcome in. Hopefully, everyone had a great week and is ready to have an even better Sunday. Hopefully, last week you were able to construct a nice winning lineup based on some of the plays mentioned in last week’s article. However, you aren’t here to reminisce about last week.
Last week’s Thursday night game between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots was a closer game than many expected, at least till the fourth quarter. Eventually, the Patriots won 35-14 as the defense scored two touchdowns to match Tom Brady’s two rushing touchdowns. While the game wasn’t full of fantasy points, Golden Tate and Julian Edelman joined Brady and the Patriots D/ST as the only players to score more than 14 fantasy points in the game. Hopefully, tonight’s game offers more big-time fantasy scorers.
Another week in the books, and another page of value chalk that failed spectacularly. As with most weeks, much of the popular value ends up being from one team. Last week, it was Bengals pass-catchers, this week it looks to be the Dolphins offense. We will try to navigate through the landmines the best we can.

The Denver Broncos are coming off a second consecutive losing season, going 6-10, the first time that’s happened to the franchise since 1971-72. The key to their failures over the last two years: coaching. It has been atrocious at best. Bad schemes that consistently misuse players talent, as well as terrible game management, were the ultimate problems that sunk the Broncos last year. After missing the playoffs for the third straight year, under a brand-new coaching regime led by Vic Fangio, the Broncos are looking to right the ship and go back to being a perennial playoff team.
With six teams on bye this week, our start/sit decisions become more crucial than ever. While it is tough to sit players who have a decent role on their team, it is the tough decisions that separate the champions from everyone else. Based on this week’s matchups, I recommend starting and sitting the following players.
The trade deadline has come and gone. There are some new players on new teams and that means that guys are going to be stepping up into larger roles. There are also a few guys that will be fantasy relevant in a week or two, so it is best to jump on them a week early and stay ahead of the curve. In addition, the most important thing that you can do to make sure your team is in contention is to make sure there are no stars that were dropped due to recent struggles. For example, Larry Fitzgerald and Kenyan Drake were dropped all across fantasy football at some point this season, so make sure there are no studs lingering on your wire.
