Cincinnati had an excellent draft in July. In fact, their first four picks from this year are in the organization’s top 12 prospects according to MLB.com. Did any of them make the top 5?
The National League Central had an interesting approach to the trade deadline. Some teams were busy, and some excelled. Others were lazy and, quite frankly, looked like failures.
The Cincinnati Reds don’t care what hour of the day it is, they are here to make moves. After acquiring two relievers from the New York Yankees last night in Luis Cessa and Justin Wilson, the Reds are back to work.
Following the Yankees’ 4-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays, Brian Cashman shipped two relievers to the Reds. The two hurlers on the move are righty Luis Cessa and lefty Justin Wilson. Cincinnati will send a player to be named later back to New York
The Cincinnati Reds have fallen a little flat out of the All-Star Break, losing six of nine games. But they are coming off a series win over the St. Louis Cardinals and are still in both the National League Central and Wild Card races. That puts them in an interesting position at the trade deadline.
The favorites to win the national title, Arkansas was eliminated from the NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament in the Super Regionals by North Carolina State. Jalen Battles was one of their catalysts throughout the season and postseason as he really elevated his MLB Draft stock with solid play.
In his first three years at East Carolina, Gavin Williams was primarily a reliever appearing in 38 games but just five starts. Not only has he been durable, but Williams has also been downright great in 2021 and has entered the first-round conversation.
Miami (Ohio) will look to add to their already impressive 13 Major League pitchers when hard-throwing Sam Bachman is selected in the first-round of the 2021 MLB draft in Atlanta.
It should come as no surprise that with such confidence in the available stacks today, the optimal lineup will contain mini-stacks. The best lineups are going to contain some players from those teams spread out.
One of the top second-base prospects in the 2021 MLB amateur draft, Tyler Black was born in Toronto and was a talented defenseman on the ice. He has since traded one stick for another and has absolutely raked in college at Wright State.
There was a fair chance Wade Miley never even would have taken the mound on Friday night. Cleveland was pelted by rain, causing an 83-minute delay of the start of the Indians’ Ohio Cup matchup with the Cincinnati Reds, but it was just another anomaly in the baseball life of Miley.
