The calendar has officially turned to February and there are only two more full months of the NBA season left. The trade deadline is a week away and while it usually disappoints, there could be some drastic shifts in some team’s rosters.

The NBA is filled with parity this season, as there is not a clear-cut team expected to win the conference. Some with competitive records halfway through the season are either true contenders to win the conference or they are pretenders in disguise.

There were two big matchups this week and it showed the NBA might have a new contender. It also showed that the preseason favorite is still going to be a force.

It’s going to be a long, slow week next week. That’s how it usually is when you’re waiting for Christmas day. Impatient fans will have some waiting to do before the much anticipated NBA Christmas games arrive.

Both the Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls came into Saturday’s game shorthanded. The Bulls were missing seven players due to Covid-19 protocols. On the other side, Miami was missing five key players due to injuries.

Each year, the NBA has teams that overperform or disappoint at the start of the season. The NBA is filled with parity of late, and franchises can find themselves going in the complete opposite direction of what they had expected.

In recent Boston Celtic rumors, the team is looking at trying to separate guard Zach LaVine from the Chicago Bulls. According to Brian Robb of Booth Newspaper, the Celtics would be interested in acquiring Zach LaVine from the Bulls if Bradley Beal elects to stay with the Washington Wizards.

The Chicago Bulls haven’t won a championship since 1998. Before they can get to another finals, they have to reach the playoffs first.

Within the first pick selection, the league saw a huge trade that sent Washington Wizards guard Russell Westbrook to the Los Angeles Lakers for Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Montrezl Harrell and the 22nd pick in the draft.
