On Saturday it was announced that Ja Morant will undergo a right knee arthroscopic procedure to remove loose bodies from his knee. This procedure is scheduled for Monday morning. I’m sure this news had a lot of NBA fans worried about the prospect who is expected to be picked close to the top of the upcoming NBA draft.
During a segment on NBA TV’s ‘Open Court’, Former Miami Heat player Chris Bosh said his biggest ‘What If’ of his career was Lebron James staying in Miami. Bosh believes the Heat would’ve won at least one more title had James stayed in Miami.
Ersan İlyasova is supposed to be a Turkish power forward drafted in the second round who carved out a solid enough career for himself that he’s still a decent NBA player well over a decade after being drafted. He’s known for being a good floor spacer at 6’10” while shooting 37% from behind the arc for his career and has fit in really well with Milwaukee’s system for quite a few years. This year, he averaged a sliver over 18 minutes per game in Milwaukee’s run to the Eastern Conference Finals – the furthest run he’s been a part of in his career.
And most of that’s true.
But there’s just one problem with that description of Ersan İlyasova. There is no Ersan İlyasova.
It all comes down to this. Sixteen teams entered. Just two teams remain. The Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors have emerged as the best team from their respective conferences, and now it’s time to figure out which team is the best team in the entire league. To reflect on this crazy postseason and preview the Finals, a few of our scribes have to come together to talk about it.
During his season-ending press conference in April, Miami Heat president Pat Riley mentioned three acronyms he uses to describe players. “AOT” is for players who give effort all of the time, “NOT” is for players who give effort none of the time. Riley feels the Heat have plenty of “SOT” players, who perform some of the time.
The Milwaukee Bucks needed a bucket badly.
After a fast start to game five of the Eastern Conference Finals, Milwaukee suddenly found themselves on the wrong end of a 16-2 Toronto Raptors run, giving the Canadian outfit their first lead of the night midway through the second quarter.
It has been 11 months since Michael Porter Jr heard his name called with the 14th pick by the Denver Nuggets in the 2018 NBA Draft. After redshirting his rookie year as he recovers from a pretty severe back injury, Porter spoke to the media during his exit interviews. He had good news for all Nuggets fans answering if he had been fully cleared by his doctors to play in Summer League by saying, “yeah, I’m expected to play in Summer League, and I can’t wait for that.”
Surprise, surprise. The Golden State Warriors are in the Finals again. I’m not sure there’s a person on the planet that could have credibly predicted anything else, and that can’t be said about any other team in history aside from the 1960s Boston Celtics. Don’t get me wrong, it’s absolutely a legendary feat to make the NBA Finals five consecutive times and it deserves plenty of recognition, but it isn’t exactly surprising, is it? Everyone likes an underdog story, and while this Warriors dynasty started out as one, it’s been a long time since that’s the case. So instead, I’ll focus on one specific player that I personally believe is possibly the biggest underdog story in the league – Alfonzo McKinnie.
The Washington Wizards have been granted permission to interview Denver Nuggets president of basketball operations, Tim Connelly, for the same position, per Adrian Wojnarowski. There seems to be a legitimate interest from Connelly, which could very well be a big problem for Denver.

As the old saying goes -“you don’t know what you’ve got, until its gone.” Anyone that is remotely associated with Michigan can feel that sentiment hit a lot closer to home now that John Beilein is moving onward to the Cleveland Cavaliers. It leaves quite a hole behind that the Wolverines will not soon forget.
