Atlanta Braves 2021 Season Preview
The Atlanta Braves finished 35-25 in last year’s 60-game spring. While a .583 winning percentage is nothing exceptional, it did put them atop the National League East and into the playoffs.

When most Americans hear ‘Hank Aaron’ they immediately think of one thing first. The Home Run King. Every hardcore baseball fan recalls dignity, perseverance, respect, integrity, durability, and consistency among other words. Friday morning, Aaron’s daughter confirmed to the media that her father had passed away at the age of 86.
The New York Mets traded for Francisco Lindor and Carlos Carrasco on Thursday. Will this be enough for them to win their division?
Andruw Jones is on the MLB Hall of Fame ballot for the fourth time after receiving a big boost last season. Will the outfielder continue to get a boost with each year of eligibility? Will he wind up eventually being inducted into Cooperstown?
Marcell Ozuna will be a hot commodity this offseason. While he played most of his games at designated hitter last season, Ozuna is still an above-average fielder at each of the corner outfield spots. As one of the premier bats on the market, he should cash in.
The Atlanta Braves signed left-handed pitcher Drew Smyly to a one-year deal worth $11 million on Monday.
While fixing the pitching staff should still be Boston’s top priority this offseason, outfielder and designated hitter Marcell Ozuna makes too much sense to let him sign elsewhere.
The Braves were one win away from the World Series and they’ll be looking to get over that hump next year but they have many spots needed to be filled.
The Chicago Cubs have declined Jon Lester’s $25 million option and he is now a free agent. Lester is one of the most accomplished starting pitchers in the game and could be an asset for a contending team.
The Dodgers won’t go down without a fight. They beat the Braves on Saturday by a score of 3-1 to force a Game 7.
After a dominant performance from the Atlanta Braves in Game 4, the Los Angeles Dodgers bounced back, with Game 5’s turning point. Mookie Betts made a solid catch as the ball headed towards the ground to end the third inning. Since then, the Dodgers’ bats woke up and scored seven go-ahead runs to claim Game 5 with a final score of 7-3.
Both the Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros face elimination tonight. The Dodgers are down 3-1 to the Atlanta Braves and the Astros are down 3-2 to the Tampa Bay Rays. Let’s see if we can make some cash with a couple of teams with their backs against the wall.
