After a quick couple of days off, the MXGP and MX2 riders got right back to action in Trentino. The second of three races at the scenic 1.55-mile circuit was also only the second, but the final midweek event of the season.
A week removed from the FIM Motocross Des Nations, the final leg of the MXGP season began Sunday at the Teutschenthal circuit in Germany. A number of title contenders such as Tim Gajser, Romain Febvre, then Maxime Renaux in the MX2 class all had some fresh legs after opting out of the team event.
The Olympics of Motocross are finally back after a year hiatus due to the pandemic. The Motocross Des Nations went off on Sunday, pitting the world’s top riders against each other in a team event.
The biggest event of the year in Motocross is now just days away. After last year’s event was canceled due to Covid-19, the Motocross Des Nations is back.
After a number of flyaway round cancelations, six of the final nine rounds of the 2021 MXGP Season are taking place in Italy. That stretch began earlier today on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia.
Antonio Cairoli has been synonymous with European Motocross over the last decade and a half. He is the all-time premier class MXGP winner with 69 Grand Prix wins, 93 in total.
It was a quick turnaround for the riders in the MXGP Paddock. For what is the only time this season, two Grand Prix’s were scheduled in the span of four days.
After a month-long break, the back nine of this year’s MXGP season kicked off on Sunday in Afyonkarahisar, Turkey. With there being (unofficially) 10 rounds remaining in the season, there is plenty of time for riders to make up ground, or crumble under pressure.
After a year off the schedule, the Matterlay Basin circuit in Winchester, England returned to the FIM World Motocross Championship. The MX2 Class would be hit with a major pre-event injury that has now put a major surprise in the points lead. As well as Tim Gasjer putting on a superb charge in MXGP Moto 2, would ultimately not result in an Overall GP Win. Losing out to one of Motocross’s all-time greats in Antonio Cairoli. Recap of this year’s MXGP of Great Britain right here.
