Devonte Wyatt is yet another Bulldog that will find a new home on the first two days of the NFL Draft in April.
In the conversation to the top overall pick in April’s draft, many have regarded Evan Neal as the top offensive lineman in this year’s class. The Florida native surrendered just two sacks on over 1,000 snaps.
The 2022 linebacker class is headlined by Nakobe Dean and Devin Lloyd. After that, the class has a significant drop-off. A player looking to get their name in that conversation is Brandon Smith.
In an August 2019 interview, wide receiver coach Brian Hartline echoed, “Garrett Wilson is not even close to scratching the surface [of his potential]”. At the time, Wilson would be a true freshman who showed flashes of potential and playmaking. His polished game should let him hit the ground running in the NFL.
Brock Purdy is a name that has been known across college football for the past four years. Purdy has been the starting quarterback at Iowa State since October of 2018 and is the definition of an experienced quarterback. Being a good college starter has taken Purdy a long way, but we’ll see if his game can translate to the NFL.
The Badgers are a team that is becoming a school that consistently churns out linebackers that produce in the NFL. Yet again, the Badgers have two linebackers worthy of being selected in the NFL Draft this year with both Leo Chenal and Jack Sanborn. The focus of this scouting report will be on Chenal.
Given his rank of two stars out of his Eden Prairie, Minnesota high school, Jermaine Johnson’s path to Florida State University was difficult.
There are four cornerbacks currently vying for the number one spot in the NFL Draft. Derek Stingley, Ahmad Gardner, Kaiir Elam, and Clemson’s Andrew Booth. While each player has a case to be the top cornerback picked in the draft, Booth could have the best one.
The NFL has thankfully seen an influx of talent along the offensive line in recent years. Once again, the 2022 draft class has plenty of tackle help. A player that has seen a significant rise is Ohio State’s Nicholas Petit-Frere.
There are at least four cornerbacks projected to go within the top 20 picks of this year’s NFL Draft. With that, teams are searching for a guy they can get in the early rounds but not for that steep of a price.
With one week left in the 2021 regular season, the 2022 draft order is close to official. It could be interesting if any potential surprises this weekend drastically change picks towards the top.
