Super Bowl LII Media Day Recap

With the chaotic start to a highly anticipated week to Super Bowl LII, here are some of the good, funny, and awkward moments from Super Bowl media day.

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was asked a myriad of questions. Some were about the game and others, well, were not so informative. When asked if he thought the Patriots’ experience would give them an advantage, Belichick responded saying,The team that plays the best on Sunday is going to have the advantage.”

When Belichick was asked if he had seen quarterback Tom Brady’s documentary series Tom vs. Time, his response was simple: “I don’t have snapface.

The recurring theme of the night was simple, to make Belichick laugh. Guillermo from talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” was able to get one of the closest things to a smile that anyone else could get when he told him a football-themed joke.

Even though he has been the Patriots since 2013, wide receiver Danny Amendola was only able to recall a couple of times seeing his head coach smiling. Two times, both after super bowl wins”.

Guillermo was able to make the rounds and show a light-hearted side to the Patriots that many don’t get to see. Center David Andrews was able to have a playful exchange with the comedian especially when he asked who he was wearing.

We also learned a lot about the team’s knowledge of pop culture, or better said, their lack of any information on the subject. Here are some of Brady’s answers to some pop culture questions.

The most telling interview of the night was from Brady. When asked by former Patriots star Willie McGinest about the Philadelphia Eagles’ underdog mentality, there was only one way to sum it up, “There [are] no underdogs in the Super Bowl. They’re the first seed in the NFC. They were 13-3.”
