Stream Machine 6/10-6/16

Michael Simione | June 7th, 2019

Just like last week below are the best pitching streamers for next week. I actually went with three young guns who have all showed some promise. Not only can these three help you this week but you might want to hold onto them for the future.

Cal Quantrill SD @ SF on 6/11 (2% owned)

Cal has some really nice swing and miss pitches. He utilizes four pitches using each at about a 20% clip. His best two pitches are his changeup which is posting a 41.1 Whiff% and his slider that has an insane 51.2 Whiff%. By combining all four and keeping hitters off their toes he has produced an above average O-Swing% of 34.1 and Swstr% of 13.7. Cal is going to a pitcher-friendly park in San Francisco and is facing a bottom of the barrel offense. The Giants are 26th in wRC+, 29th in wOBA and 28th in OBP. They also have the 10th highest SwStr% which combined with Cal’s pitches make this start really intriguing. This start is the one I like the best for any streamer this week.

Zach Plesac CLE vs CIN on 6/14 (26% owned)

Plesac was recently called up from AAA where he has a 1.41 ERA, 0.79 WHIP, and 56/7 K/BB ratio. Plesac shows elite control (1 walk in each of his two starts) with some strikeout upside as he showed in his last game vs the White Sox. So far in two starts, he has allowed 2 ER in 12.1 IP and that was against the Red Sox and White Sox. He now draws the Reds on the 14th who are 25th in wRC+, 23rd in wOBA and 24th in OBP.

Framber Valdez Hou vs TOR on 6/15 (12% owned)

This start is risky simply because Valdez starts this weekend and we aren’t too sure if he will get another one. But if it is confirmed he starts this will be a start that can win you your matchup. Valdez gets an easy matchup against the Blue Jays who are 27th in wRC+, 27th in wOBA has the 7th highest K%, and are 30th in OBP. Valdez has appeared in games in a relief role so far this year and has posted a 3.12 ERA, 7.27 K/9, and 10.3 SwStr%. In 22 total appearances (five starts) he owns a career 2.57 ERA in the majors. He has a lot of upsides, just keep an eye and make sure he gets another start before grabbing him.
